Just more right-wing nutjob spin crap to make it look like none of us pay taxes except the 'job creatorers' and the really 'hard workerers' at the top...The rest of us are just deadbeats crying about them not paying enough!

Its all schemantics, we pay higher taxes in other ways, at the end of the day the rich dbags know every trick in the book to not pay their fair share, meanwhile we are told we are ungrateful, lazy, dolts because we complain that someone making 50million dollars a year only pays 7million a year in taxes.

Funny thing is the tea-tards that are regurgitating this right-wing talk-radiot crap are the very bottom-feeders who are most affected by this disparity! Tea-tards/talk-radiots suffer the 'battered wife syndrome'...That's the only explanation for what morons they are!

Along with the lower rates on capital gains, standard deductions and also credits for having children.
FICA should be on all wages and investment income with no limits.

If pain is going to be felt, it needs to be felt by everyone.
Not just those who are just getting by.
Then folks might take off the political blinders.

And yet again you're WRONG, In 2010, the Romneys forked over $29,150 of self-employment tax (FICA) on self-employment income of just under $594,000. FYI, that 13.9% effective tax rate mittens claims does included the fica taxes he paid.

Comparing mittens tax rate with FICA to everyone else's (also with FICA) give you this, mittens paid less percentage wise than someone in the $34k-$50k range.

FAIL.. I think the point of the thread is that 97% pay less than 15% in income tax.. This would be of ALL individuals, not just those in the top.

The point I'm making is that taxes are high in this country.

It's funny that so many "conservatives" have taken to attacking Mitt Romney over his finances. The GOP used to stand for success, yet I see they have taken to phony "populism." Quite sad.

No. People that don't need Social Security shouldn't get it. They are secure already. If you earn more than say $150,000 a year in retirement then you don't need social security.

So Romney's got 97% of the vote locked up? Not necessarily; many Americans believe those with higher incomes should pay a higher percentage.

The point is you're providing partial data and trying to make a comparison. I'm certain you could care less. You want reliable information I provided a link -- irs.gov. Plenty of people are smart enough, no matter how often you belittle them. The question is whether or not they have the monetary means to pay a whole slew of accountants and tax attorney's to avail them every means of reducing their tax burden. The fact that you think folks shouldn't pay taxes for benefit's provided by the State is stupendous. It's a ridiculous assertion.
