These are not business people running the show.
If the government were a business they would have been bankrupt decades ago.
What makes anyone think the government does their due diligence and picks companies based on their financials and history ? No..they pick them by how buddy buddy they are with government officials and how much they donate.

I think you just gave me an idea how to accurately describe the modern day Republicans: "Speaking from the right, but batting from the left".

Bush created the program specifically for the "same old green BS". Do you know how much money he poured into ethanol subsidies?

Mayhap the OP simply framed the argument/thread incorrectly. If the OP is against loan guarantees by the government, then that's an entirely different issue than saying that Solyndra was a Bush creation. The Solyndra debacle is 100% an Obama creation.

500 million is half a billion, and if you are concerned about money, I can tell you that Bush poured 180 billion in AIG, and that cost the taxpayer 360 times more than Solyndra. Then he piled 20 billion into GM, which went bankcrupt soon after. That's worth 40 Solyndras. It is what it is..... Lots of money gone under these two presidents, and now people want more of the same under a differnet name, either Romney or Gingrich.

He had Solyndra on his list, and fought two years to get the money, and in the end the committee turned him down. If he had more time he would have managed to push it through, but then Obama took office and completed the deal. Of course looking back now, it would have been better if they had both failed. There has been a lot of repetition on this thread, and I am going to leave it at this.

In other words Bush didn't get it done. How do we blame Bush when he didn't manage to get the money advanced? Go ahead and admit that you knew that all along but just don't want let Obama take the blame for what he said was his baby.

I failed to see all the money that Solyndra got from the Bush administration. How much was that?
