Hardly felt at all.

The Hill Poll: No benefit from tax holiday, say a majority of voters - TheHill.com

54% not helped financially.

Quote:
A majority of voters say they have not benefited from the payroll tax holiday that lawmakers are working to extend through the rest of this year, according to this week’s poll conducted for The Hill.

The poll lends some credence to GOP arguments that many taxpayers didn’t notice they were getting more money in their paychecks.
Didn't the dems LEARN from the stimulus? $13 dollars twice a month is hardly noticed. Same with this avg of $40 per paycheck.

Quote:
The Hill Poll shows that voters favor Republicans over Democrats on tax policy, with 45 percent saying the GOP has a better approach, compared to 41 percent for Democrats.
You bet they do. Stopping the obamanomic train wreck of overspending.

Then why the vehement opposition by the GOP to give the folks a few pennies?

They didn't notice since they were not getting more, they were getting the same amount, since it was a extension.

They'd notice if they were getting less.

Because the payroll tax funds SS.
SS isn't doing too well these days in case you haven't noticed.

The real issue ought to be the blatant and shameless double-standard that republicans use to apply tax fairness. Raise taxes and eliminate tax breaks for the lower wage workers while lowering taxes for those who have enough disposable income to pay for hundreds of mortgages.

Personally, I wouldn't cry if the tax cut ended, but it's fundamentally wrong to take away a tax break for those who are underemployed while leaving in place historically low tax breaks for the super wealthy. I don't think either party has all the right ideas on taxes, but the republicans seem to have all of the wrong ones. That and their game of political brinkmanship and willing to take the U.S. economy over the rails to preserve the policies which pamper them. It's not only fundamentally wrong but it's just bad economics.

Now you worry about Social Security? lol...

The poor and middle class get a tax break and now you worry.

No worries during every other tryst into the cookie jar, eh?

Ridiculous.

What do yo mean "now" I worry ?
I worried all along.

I didn't want those Bush cuts extended. I didn't want the payroll tax cut.
They are cutting taxes while increasing spending ..where will that lead ?

You complain about this tax cut, but did you think we should keep tax breaks for corporate jets.

The truth is most people get by on whatever money they have.

But Republicans are always for tax breaks for the wealthy, which don't seem to translate to jobs either.

The fact is if we are going to put our debt in a controlled level, we are going to have to cut spending AND raise taxes.

Who are YOU or anyone else to say what $13 could do for a family in this economy. My goodness, don't your voice get tired of speaking for everyone?
