This is exactly what is wrong with DC yet folks keep putting these people back in office and defend their actions because of the letter next o their name, this one being a D.

“I’ve done earmarks all my career, and I’m happy I’ve done earmarks all my career. They’ve helped my state, and they’ve helped different projects around the country,” an unapologetic Reid told reporters after the Democrats’ weekly caucus lunch. He called senators’ right to direct spending to pet projects in their home states is a “constitutional duty.”

Absolutely disgusting.

Now, I wonder if I do a keyword search for "earmarks" how many Liberals on this forum will have posts attributed to their names for hating earmarks by the GOP?

Why aren't those Liberals coming to this thread to discuss Harry Reid's attitude?

I wonder if I google earmarks how many Republicans I would find that campaigned they will stop the earmarks, but still stood in line to include their pet projects in every bill stating that its their right to go after funds for their State.

Most people in their local districts and states are also happy with the earmarks put forward for them.

Thats the problem, its all about me, when the people elected to Washington should be about us.

We've given the federal government to much power, period.

Any elected official worth his/her weight in salt would be proud of earmarking for projects in their districts. Only the fraudulent earmarks are wrong. Look at Newt whats his name. This week he proposed hundreds of billions of dollars in earmarks for the space program, benefitting Florida.

Certainly no Republican lawmaker has ever said anything like that. Those earmarks declined when the Republicans had full control of the House, Senate and Presidency. Oh, wait, no they increased quite a bit.

Perhaps instead of being a partisan and whining about one person the opposite side of the spectrum, you should use those high standards on those Republicans you hold so high.

Try thinking for yourself sometime. You'd say things that make a lot more sense.
