Where's the proof that this decision was politically motivated? Just because the accusation is made doesn't make it fact.
Not everything needs "PROOF"......some things are just too blatant to not be true. When you SEE someone molesting a child....it may need "PROOF" in a court trial, but it doesn't need proof in the court of public opinion. MAKE ALL FUTURE DONATIONS TO THE SUSAN G KOMAN FOUNDATION directly to PLANNED PARENTHOOD. Don't forget to tell them why they are getting that donation, then write to the Susan G Koman Foundation and tell them about your donation
So then, if Komen wants to operate from a position of pure integrity, should they be taking the big bucks from donors like American Airlines, Bank of America, and Caterpillar? All under investigation by the feds?
Where's your proof of that? And it's not the "feds", it's congress.
That's not limited to the left, you know. Also remember that just because there is an investigation, it doesn't mean that the allegations are true - a concept many people (left and right) have trouble comprehending.
That is correct, however, it also does not mean that the allegations are false. It is also not fair to demonize a group such as SGK which HAS contributed positive advancements in breast cancer awareness just because one supports planned parenthood. SGK did not call for the investigation and if there were not any evidence to do so,it would not be happening.
So you're saying that breast exams do nothing in discovering potential cancer. Mammograms are not routine with women under 40 so what else should be done.
Never said that, but thanks for trying to put words in my mouth!
Mammograms are routing for those under 40 with a family history of breast cancer.

So you'll ignore the statement from Koman that says they made their decision because of the congressional investigation, and instead believe what you HOPE to be true?

The only "congressional investigation" is typical bully tactics by the thugs in GOP trying to stop access to abortion. There is NOTHING to investigate. It was obvious blackmail and right wing conservative boardroom politics within the Susan G Koman foundation that was the reason this was done.....now it is up to all of those that fought long and hard for women's rights and the sanctity of their bodies to come out of the woodwork, send a big fat check to Planned Parenthood while at the same time telling Susan G Koman foundation to stick it! NOT ONE MORE DONATION to their foundation from any of us.
Never said that, but thanks for trying to put words in my mouth!

You said PP doesn't offer much in the way of discovering breast cancer. A breast exam, which they do, is the first step. And yes with a history of breast cancer, mammograms are routine but not for those that are just getting their routine check up.

There are several articles on line stating PPH does not offer breast screenings. And while I agree with you in regards to breast exams being a great place to start, I would think SGK would donate to organizations taking things further in preventing and detecting breast cancer. Just my opinion!

There are also internal sources at SGK who are saying this:
Quote:
But three sources with direct knowledge of the Komen decision-making process told me that the rule was adopted in order to create an excuse to cut-off Planned Parenthood. (Komen gives out grants to roughly 2,000 organizations, and the new "no-investigations" rule applies to only one so far.) The decision to create a rule that would cut funding to Planned Parenthood, according to these sources, was driven by the organization's new senior vice-president for public policy, Karen Handel, a former gubernatorial candidate from Georgia who is staunchly anti-abortion and who has said that since she is "pro-life, I do not support the mission of Planned Parenthood."
Who's right? Do we put more weight on unnamed sources or do we put more weight on a PR announcement?
