"This curious flyer was handed out to students studying the history of the Cold War at Roosevelt High School in Des Moines, Iowa."

"The CAPITALISM side of the flyer shows workers in tattered clothing, chained to a machine that delivers all of the money produced to a cigar-smoking man who is also much better dressed."

"Over on the COMMUNISM side, there is no boss and the smiling workers are better dressed, donít have chains on their legs and the money goes back to them."

They couldn't be trying to persuade the kids that Communism was better than Capitalism, could they? Public schools wouldn't try and use children to promote a political agenda now would they?

I'd say Stephen Bloom has been frying his brain with meth again.

Default Communism is better than Capitalism,

at least that is what students at one high school in Des Moines, Iowa have been told. This little flyer they were handed at the school seems to say just that and nobody at the school has defended their action, up to now.

What brought the name of Stephen Bloom into your post? Surely you aren't trying to deflect from the story, are you? Sure seems you are.

doc, I am sorry I didn't look better before attempting to begin a thread. We got combined and there is another thread about the topic with some lefties howling their heads off with their deflecting attempts.

Do you know who Bloom is? He's an uber-liberal professor. It was tongue-in-cheek suggesting that Bloom has gone kookoo and started distributing communism fliers.

Public teachers' Union caught discussing how they can "teach Marx" in the classroom! Didn't find anything this blatant till Obama was in office awhile.

Oh yes, look at this cartoon that they SHOULD be using....

When the second woman speaks, they unfortunately, probably deliberately cut out the part of the speech before, so the context is missing.

Anyway, I don't understand the fuss. Americans must feel pretty threatened when they get irritated when people speak their minds.

In many parts of the world both communism and capitalism are equally despised. I guess people intuitively know that the best system is probably somewhere in the middle..

There is nothing middle about it. Every classical economist divided the means of production as:

land( any natural resource)
labor
capital

The piggies have now conflated both land and capital into the same account. Thus the squealing piglets born into privilege from their money grubbing sows can just buy up the coast line and call themselves capitalists so they can demand low taxes for "innovation". We used to call them the landed gentry and rebelled against them, King George in particular.

The debate of communism vs capitalism is a false one.
