India thinks US internet rules are too lax. They are the latest government to ask Google/Facebook and 21 other companies to remove "offensive" content and gave them a list of websites and 2 weeks to come up with a monitoring plan.

Worldwide..the government knows what's best for you to read..right ?

Google and Facebook have removed from their Web sites content the Indian government has deemed offensive, according to Reuters.
The Internet giants are among 21 companies being forced to take down photographs, videos, text, and other items officials consider anti-religious or anti-social.

An example of an item that caught the scrutiny of the Indian government as well as religious groups is a series of illustrations that show Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Gandhi in "compromising positions," as well as another that depict pigs running through the holy city of Mecca.
