Brown's fan - Disrespecting a bulling disrespectable parent is very sensible. The father should have asked what he had done to deserve such vituperation.

I was "tossed through the wall" a couple of times by my drunken stepfather. That only increased my caution, not my respect. After I returned from an interesting year in 'nam, I paid him a visit with every intention of beating him to death just for the sake of justice. (I was not all that sane when I got back from 'nam. I was not all that sane when I went.) When I met him I realized this is just a pathetic old man so scared he could barely stand. I heard he died of lung cancer a year so later. Justice was served.

I expect this daughter will feel the same was about her bullying father as I felt about mine. Not worthy of respect or any time, energy or effort. He needs some anger management training and she needs to be a bit more discreet.

I am way left of many of you when it concerns economics and social policy but I believe every adult person not adjudicated insane or criminal has a right to own and carry a firearm anywhere they have a legal right to be. I am not such a fanatic that I would not support restrictions on places like courtrooms and legislative halls where the police have a duty to protect you or bars where that is the responsibility of the owner. I also believe the person that pulls the trigger is completely responsible for the damage done by the bullet. Being uncontrollably angry at an insulting child is not a good reason for pulling the trigger. If the shooter kills a person the shooter had better have a damn good reason. Self defense is a good reason. Anger is not.

Well, like most of all you...I've a had a grown MAN stand an inch from my face and scream at the top of his lungs looking me straight into the eye. You kept your mouth shut and did what you were told or else. Dad, the wimp, gets so upset over a 15 year old girl saying things just about any teenager thinks, but doesn't say. Now that is what I call a "negligent" (there are to accidental) discharge if I ever saw one in my life. I'm I right?

FWIW - I wonder what is actually more frightening; a US Marine Drill Sergeant or a VC trying to blow my head off so close the muzzle blast singed the hair on my buzz cut. I go with the Drill Sgt. for intimidation and Charlie for startling. At least I could shoot Charlie.

Now I understand why you are against discipline ........
