I'm always intrigued by the programs on NPR such as Prairie Home Companion and that annoying Wisconsin dude on Saturdays.

It is all so folksy, and yet incredibly annoying all at the same time.

Maybe cold winters make people laugh anything. Any ideas?

I knew that I was not the only one that changes stations when that comes on. It's way too hokey for my taste. I've given it several chances, but to no avail. "Car Talk" runs a close second in the annoying category. The guy that is always laughing gets on my nerves big time.

It seems "Car Talk" has an inordinate amount of calls regarding old Volvos.

NPR has lots of different programming on it. Much like television. Different people like different things. Is that really worthy of a thread?

That's the problem. I am overly intrigued by what is happening when the show fills a hockey arena in Grand Forks, North Dakota as if Garrison Keillor is the Rolling Stones.

I think NPR should be defunded. There is no reason that liberal propaganda station gets funding from the federal government.

I listen to NPR a lot. They go out of their way to present both sides of the story. Perhaps if you actually listened, you'd know this. I'm guessing you're too busy watching completely one sided conservative TV to realize that.

Limbaugh tells his followers to be annoyed, and they obey.
