Exactly. We need to get rid of God, so we can engage in deviant activities like beastiality, open relationships, and genocide without having to answer to God for the life we lived on earth.

We can formulate our own rules as we see fit, and do whatever we want.

Hooray for atheism! High five!

There is such major hypocrisy coming from the "party of less government" that I am astonished. Maintaining the nation's infra-structure and ensuring food and health care for our children is too grievous an oppression by the government, but government mandates on private sexual choices, birth control, abortion, women's rights etc. are perfectly acceptable because that's what god wants. God is horrified by two happily paired off lesbians but indifferent to the suffering of a child. Thank you Republicans everywhere for bringing us this good news.
Wrap your head around this:

Republican does not equal christian fundamentalist.

Repeat to yourself.

So, it should be okay for the church to do anything to the altar boys, eh? Its their business. It is okay for all employees of a business to be dictated by the whims of the employer, with no government intervention, as long as the employer is a religious organization?

Right wingers, you preach but hate to practice. Collectivism rules, individualism is a sham. You're thinking of ruling/governing bodies/ownership, but NOT of individuals who are a part of the system and government's responsibility. You're dancing to the tune of the authoritarian song of the ownership while assisting them in getting tax breaks. On this issue, I propose that such businesses be removed from tax deductions by the government, if they want to be treated differently and on THEIR terms.

Constitution for the collective, or for the individuals. Which version do you have?

Practice your religion in public all you want, when you want to force your beliefs on others THEN we have a serious problem.

Their position:
The Bible says Homosexuality is a sin so we need a federal ban on it.
The Church says birth control is a sin so we need to ban that too.

The Founding Fathers were NOT Bible thumping Christian Fundamentalists.

I think its you who have a complete misunderstanding of the issues.

1) Reproduction is a biological function

2) Reproductive (or birth) control is a health care concern

3) Some religions believe that it is wrong to engage in sex for any other reason than to create progeny.

4) Other religions do not teach that sex for the sake of pleasure is wrong.

Numbers 1 and 2 are statements concerning realities. You cannot change reality. Numbers 3 and 4 are statements concerning belief. The Republican party wishes to impose a particular belief system on the entire nation whether we all agree or not.

The rule about Catholic Organizations (and ALL employers) providing health insurance coverage, including contraceptive health care to their employees simply means that the people who work for a church sponsored entity have the option of obtaining contraceptive devices from their health care provider. The law is not FORCING people to either obtain or use contraceptive devices. A devout Catholic or anyone else can simply make the decision not to utilize that part of their health coverage.

Republicans who believe contraception is wrong are not being forced to use it against their will. So why should those who do not share the belief that sex is sinful be forced to abide by the belief system of those who do? This is not separation of Church and State, but rather a Republican imposed tyranny of the few over the rights of the many.

Stupid waste of time trying to explain logic to bigots.

Please cite chapter and verse to support your assertion that the Bible teaches that homosexuality (as opposed to homosexual activity) is a sin. Please also cite a source for the assertion that the Church has advocated banning birth control. The Church actually teaches natural birth control, if I'm not mistaken.

Do you really want to go there? If you think this contraception diktat stirred up a hornets' nest you haven't seen the firestorm that will descend on Obama and Washington if they tell people they can't use their Medicare or Medicaid dollars to get care at their preferred Catholic hospital.
