The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) moved to reject LightSquared’s planned wireless network on Tuesday after the president’s top adviser on telecom issues said there is “no practical way” to prevent the network from disrupting GPS devices.

This is a great vicotry for GPS users everywhere. This issue had been a major concern for pilots who rely on GPS more than ever for navigation. Lightsquared's proposed 'solution' had been to retrofit all existing gps devices to prevent the interference from their new system. I am glad that the FCC woke up and realized that this was not a real solution.
