Neither the Mideast nor the pipeline has anything to do with the price. Closing US gasoline refineries and control of the world's oil supply have everything to do with the price. It is nice to own a monopoly.

If the monopoly exists, when can we expect Obama to give us back the 30 million barrels from the Strategic Petro Reserve that he wasted? Wasn't the intent of that to flood the market with crude in an effort to stave off higher prices? What happened? Are you calling Obama incompetent?

Obama made it clear and put the right wingers in their place that he and the white house have no control over gas prices. When he released the oil reserves, the oil prices plunged. To counter, big oil turned off the spigots to raise the prices back up.
Big oil and OPEC control the prices and they want them in only one place no matter what, sky high.

In other words, BO is incompetent. Shouldn't he have known what you just said was true? Isn't POTUS expected be as smart or smarter than you? Will you hold him accountable for this incompetence?

Also, show us where gas prices "plunged." I don't recall that.

He caused the problem in the first place by bombing the hell out of Libya. There was no shortage of oil at the time just the speculators. You think 30 million barrels made everything ****** dorey?? LOL.

My question is did he put it back??

Remember, obama WANTS gas prices to rise to $4-5/gals.

Obama Supports High Gas Prices If They're Gradually Hiked - YouTube

How will he convince struggling Americans that $4-5/gas is good for them?

Failed deflection.

Obama was getting quite a bit of heat from the public and the right wingers about how high the gas prices were going. He promised the american people he would release the reserves if the prices went too high and big oil though he was bluffing. He kept his promise to the american people and released them, and big oil when into a complete s**tstorm to turn off production to keep the prices sky high.
Big oil and the right tried to sweep this under the table, but it makes it clear as can be the white house has little to no control over gas prices.
The very high gas prices are a perfect example of those "free markets!" "less regulations!" in action
