Meaningless assumptions about people you do not know, nothing more.

Of course not. The lady in the video may or may not have had kids. Again, it did not say.

I meant to also ask if you've ever got sick before as had to pay up the arse to get treatment, leaving you with medical bills?

Point is, you don't know that lady's circumstances, so you are just making assumptions. End of debate.

I wonder what all these people who think that the desperate have made their own beds believe we should do? Deathcamps and limed pits, or just let them rot like a garland of stinking death surrounding our palaces?

To be clear, i'm not talking about unforseen medical events. Anyone in life an be afflicted without warning.

But anyone in life can save money beginning at an early age if they make a concerted effort to do so. Having a nest egg is just good economics. Also, the purchase of a house should never require two salaries to make the payment. A smart person will purchase a house that they can pay the mortgage and all utilities, taxes, etc. with one salary in a two-salary household. Nearly the entire other salary can go into savings. You'd be surprised how fast savings accumulate doing this.

The point is that most of these people made horrible choices. I'm confident that I've built up a solid foundation for avoiding those bad choices because i've planned my decisions years in advance. Nothing comes as a surprise to me because i'm prepared and have thought out my path forward. Short of gambling away my entire life at the casino (won't happen, I don't gamble), the decisions I make are on solid ground. And it's all because I planned for the unforeseen. As such, I won't be living in a drain or a tent.

Preparation....its what fiscally responsible citizens do.
Prepared people have ended up on their asses before too.

And it's not all about being "fiscally responsible." Why do some of you think every problem comes from the lack of money? Sure, that's the case for a hell of a lot of people, but folks with plenty of money have found themselves destitute.

Some of you guys come off as superhuman or something. It's like, you think you're perfect and nothing bad can happen. I'm sure that damn near everyone in that video thought the same thing too.

Like i said before....the line is thin.

I don't give a damn what you say, you're human, and can end up on your ass just like everyone else.

Don't be so darn arrogant.

Man, i've learned long ago that C-D is full of people that never make mistakes. They're absolutely perfect. Their wives and kids are perfect. They have perfect jobs with unlimited paid vacation and free no-cost medical insurance. They have no debt...bought homes and cars with cash money. They all have big banks accounts and millions in their 401k's. They've not only NEVER used a social program, but they don't know anyone that ever has either.

And if something unforseen happens, they're well insulated by legions of family and friends that will pay their way until they get back on their feet again. But that won't happen, because these people never make bad decisions on ANYTHING like the rest of us do. They're always clued in on everything because they're so wise.

These C-D posters are preternaturally talented people. They've all got 5000 skills to fall back on if they lose a job, but they don't have to worry because they can't possibly lose their job like the rest of us "normal" Americans. I mean, they can just open a business if everything else falls flat and make millions.

This is why i love C-D. It's the land of perfection.

I'd rep you again for that if I could. I've noticed that too, but it's not just these boards. There's the same tired old rhetoric being spewed like nasty vomit all over the internet. There are a lot of angry people in America who, even if they are among the wealthy or middle class, are not content to be grateful for what they have, but seek to take what little those who don't have away from them just to save a few tax dollars that they perceive they earned and is their money. It's like people take pleasure in seeing others suffer and rather than offer a hand up or even just a bit of advice (since they apparently know not all), they would rather kick people in the *******s while they're already down.

America may only wake up and grow up when it reaches rock bottom, which I don't wish on it as there are a lot of very good people here whom I have utmost respect for, but the sociopaths and armchair fascists can bugger off to where the sun doesn't shine as far as I'm concerned. I have no love for the wicked.

Putting less than $200/month in savings is "out of touch with reality?"

If i'm out of touch with reality, then this nation has been ****ed for a long, long time. Why did our citizens allow themselves to get in such a precarious position if $200/month savings is not a "reality?"

Depressing with no end in sight.

None of use take pleasure in watching people suffer. Spewing this "nasty vomit" is not really worthy of my response. But I will respond because I think it's important to know that what you deem to be hatred for the poor or some other hyperbolic falsity, is really (for me) more about life decisions and personal responsibility. Millions of American's make bad decisions about nearly everything.......like buying a new car when the payments are too high....buying a house with an adjustable rate mortgage.....taking expensive vacations on a credit card.....having children when they can barely afford the other children they have, etc. Not to mention the millions of other smaller financial decisions that wreck bank accounts.

These are ALL horrendous life decisions that ultimately lead to unpleasant outcomes. I have sympathy for people who fall on hard times. I have very little sympathy for people who fall on hard times after a lifetime of bad decisions.

I expect you as a human to know the difference.
