because if you wait long enough, it might eventually become one.

Earlier is easier and safer to do. Inside sonograms can be pretty rough or no big deal, depending on your personal anatomy and mental state.

That's what the was for . Unfortunately, sarcasm doesn't translate well across the internet. Notice that in no place did I (seriously, anyways) attempt to interject personal opinion on abortion in my post.

Yes, Virginia, There Is a Baby in There:

"So does Virginia’s law require some foreign object to be 'inserted into the vagina, and then moved around'? The answer is obviously no. The law doesn’t specify what kind of ultrasound must be used, rather it clearly states that the sonogram 'shall be made pursuant to standard medical practice in the community.' This, obviously, is going to be a function of whatever device Dr. Mengele has at his disposal in the abortion facility."
But you can't run from the fact that those who are against abortion are trying to force their viewpoint upon the woman's brain. The woman is already in enough emotional pain and distress as it is, especially if the pregnancy was the result of rape. If you hate abortion and are against it, it makes much better sense to concentrate on doing something to improve access to birth control and to encourage its use, so the woman won't find herself being in the position of choice in the first place.

True. But you don't even have to go as far as rape. Women deal with a million issues in their lives, issues nobody else is going to have to deal with, so there are enough reasons to not want to be pregnat or have a baby without reaching for the extreme.

Quite true, I admit it. It's precisely because of her distress that she is vulnerable to dismissing the humanity of her unborn child. But once she can no longer escape the fact, she's more likely to reconsider. Quite a few studies to this effect.

Is that a political problem or a mental/physical one? Who is best to deal with that?

It's both. Abortion is murder and should be illegal. Until then, we must rely on calmly persuasiding hormonally-charged women in great emotional distress with reason.

How can you say that reason needs to be used to persuade women when your own reasons for being against abortion have absolutely nothing to do with reason and everything to do with faith?

Just saying. It's a contradictory thing.
