I was just curious how much you all participate in politics.

I chose the first option in the poll. I generally tend to avoid confrontation and keeping my political view to myself helps me do just that.

It'll be interesting to see what the results show.

I contribute to candidates I support in my own local and in others.

I vote, write my elected officials (even the ones I didn't vote for, they are still MY elected officials if they are from my state or in the Executive), and try and stay as informed as possible so I make an informed vote when I do vote.

I don't give anyone, any money.

To be honest, I don't vote because I don't care.

And to clarify, I don't complain about who's in office since it really doesn't matter to me.

If it helps, I'm Centrist.

4 (though certainly have done 2 or 3). While I certainly don't do it every year, I have donated to a few campaigns. I have also done some volunteer work (phone banking, canvassing, etc) to a local legislative race and a Congressional one.

This probably should have been a multiple answer poll.

I voted for the third option since I do discuss politics with my friends & family. The funny thing is they know I have been voting in every election for the past 20 years so they seek out my opnion first.
I also could have voted Option 4 as well since I have campaigned / protested on local political & environmental issues. and have sat in on government meetings.

I clicked number 4 because I do that infrequently, but I would have chosen option 3 too if I could. Option 5 is still open as I'm considering a run for the local school board right now.

My political views are well known to family, friends and acquaintances alike and I've lost fellowship with some of them because of it. That's been particularly true since this President took office. I supported him, and still will if the GOP can't run anybody better than what they've got out there, and that's been a deal breaker for some family and friends. The level of absolute hatred expressed toward the man has been quite astonishing to me, but I will not back down nor allow a lie about him (or anybody else) to go unchallenged. The truth is not negotiable for me.

I do not talk politics with family and friends because I think they are on a lower level of understanding since they get their info straight from the news. That does not mean I think they are stupid it just that I at least put in a couple hours a day so they are over matched. When on a rare occasion politics does come up they bore me with their "talking points" which is just hitting the surface of a issue.

When talking politics I come here to CD there are a slew of posters from both sides to debate, kick around ideas, and learn.

I am not as active as I would like to be but I have protested and sent money to campaigns. I usually vote but if there are no local issues or candidates that I care about I do not waste my time and will stay home.

I local elections, I vote for the person regardless of party. Seems on larger (national) elections, I go with whose views mostly match mine.
