If I was a liberal I would. Of course you feel safe and happy, you're not dealing with reality. I'd have a sense of wellbeing too if I had an sky father looking out for me. Too bad it's imaginary. Stuff like that. They'll just make fun of the wellbeing as being an escape from reality.
Don't know if I qualify as a Jesus hater since I don't believe in Jesus, but this poll does nothing to convince me otherwise.
Also, I saw nothing in the article that says Americans with a belief in Jesus have a higher well-being.
Considering that America is majority Christian (76% in 2008), i'd say it's a forgone conclusion that a Gallup study pertaining to "religious American's" is highly dependent on Jesus as the main character.

So?
An interesting study would be to find out if there is a statistically significant relationship between believing in Jesus and believing in any other mythical character

Believing in Jesus is not an escape from reality. Believe it or not, Christians put their pants on the same way you do....one leg at a time. Get this...they also breathe the same air as you do and go to the same schools as you do and drive on the same roads as you do! That's some far-fetched reality, isn't it!
The self righteous always have an overabundance of pride in their actions, rarely doubt their convictions, and think they already understand it all.
That is not something to be proud of, it is something that requires reflection of the soul.
