There's only 3 things that I can recall that come from Vermont that garner much devotion from me. Self-avowed socialist Bernie Sanders is NOT one of them.
1) Maple Syrup
2) Darn Tough™ Vermont Wool Socks
3) The Appalachian Trail
Besides, what's wrong with wanting to reign in deficits? Is that problematic to Democrats?

You could always watch the clip before spouting off. First of all, he is not a
Democrat. Secondly, he is not against reining in the deficits.

Now old Bernie is one of those "independents" who caucuses with the Democrats. That would be someone who runs on one name and serves on another, He has admitted to being a socialist but now we can be dealt with as whatever that Media Matters term is that they like to pin on us. The truth often does hurt, though.

Do you realize that Sanders is railing solely against Republicans? Did you happen to notice that he never mentions Democrats, who by the way voted for the war spending he rails against....who by the way passed Obamacare which re-enforced the "no negotiating drug prices for Medicare Part D" rule.....which voted to keep the Bush Tax Cuts in place, etc.
Curiously Bernie singles out Republicans, but he never blames Democrats.
Now i'm curious: Are Democrats and Liberals on this forum capable of picking apart congressional testimony and weighing it against the facts that are conveniently left out....as Bernie Sanders so eloquently does in his rant?
I think its hilarious that this fool is put on a pedestal. He just pulled the wool over your eyes.

I notice that he didn't try to defend Bernie's socialist admission. After being willing to jump you for saying he is a socialist, that really makes me wonder how much he does support Bernie.
He is merely pointing out the hypocrisy of many in the self-styled "party of fiscal conservatism" (aka the Republicans) who are for deficit reduction when it's politically expedient (aka when a Democrat is the President).
Remember, folks, it was a Republican Congress and President who launched two unfunded wars, gave the wealthiest Americans two huge giveaways, and also gave pharmaceutical companies a giant giveaway (Medicare Part D). Furthermore, the real estate bubble of the 2000s, which a Republican-dominated government and their Wall Street friends were largely responsible for creating, helped create the biggest revenue-drainer of all: the huge recession of 2008/2009.
The wealthiest Americans and businesses won't invest in the economy if there's no demand. And there is not as much demand, because the working majority of Americans have been squeezed more and more by rising costs and stagnant wages.
