See the title and think it shouldn't make any difference because of the sanctions already in place..right ?

Iran exported 700,000 bpd before the sanctions. At the start of this year they were still exporting 650,000 bpd. A mere 50,000 bpd drop.
Some "sanction".

Saudi said they would pick up the slack though.

Iran has stopped selling crude to British and French companies, the oil ministry said on Sunday, in a retaliatory measure against fresh EU sanctions on the Islamic state's lifeblood, oil.

It's their oil until we attack them, and then it'll belong to the Chinese.

Doesn't matter unless they just stockpile the oil and don't sell it to anyone.

Oil sold to China, England, Russia, France, the United States, or wherever, oil is a global market, we all pay oil prices based on global supply.

Iran isn't going to take their oil off the market, unless there is a war, because they need the money.

Iran is the second largest producer in OPEC.
It will matter.

The hypocrisy is that the EU said it would stop importing oil from Iran last July.
A mere 50K bpd is all they cut back out of 700K bpd.

Libya, Iraq, Afghanistan, now Pakistan. They are all "unjustified attacks" on the country. Covert operations took down bin Laden. There was no need to bomb the hell out of those countries.

Both sides will do what it takes to save the petrodollar.
This is bigger than Dem vs Repub muleskinner.

Not likely, this is one issue where there is bipartisanship.

I agree with you 100% and you are preaching to the choir here..I just absolutely am at a loss as to what to think about these things...nobody I know is for war, most that have the least info on what is ACTUALLY happening are not for it...so that means our Govt is not representing our wishes and are basically running rouge.

I wonder what the true cost of a barrel of oil is...in blood and money... when you factor in the costs of our Middle East intervention. Maybe we should tax oil to pay for our adventures in the ME.

More reason for nations to break foreign oil dependence and look to other forms of energy for the long term. Oil is eventually going to run out anyway. We're just continually postponing the inevitable.
