How do you define mutilation? Would this count?
To me, mutilation is when a part of the body is destroyed adversely for no reason or purpose.

What if they'd cut off something else? Your nipples, or maybe a pinky toe?

Well, then you could have yourself circumcised.

Uncircumsized men though do tend to have bacterial problems as the medium under the foreskin is a perfect breeding ground for bacteria.
Here's some info for you.
The Benefits of Male Circumcision
It is a personal choice and if you prefer to be uncircumcised..... your choice.
That's the whole point of this thread. If somebody else circumcises you without your consent, then you have not had any personal choice in the matter whatsoever. That freedom as been taken away from you.

Circumcision at birth is normally done on religous and location grounds.
Circumcision is done in hot climates because it has always been a problem in these areas with uncircumcised men.
To be circumcised at a older age is a operation that can have complications but at birth there are very few complications.

Would neck rings as presented previously qualify?

The thing is 95 +% of circumcised men don't care. Like most of us here have already responded: "We like ours the way it is". When I grew up only Foreigners and poor people weren't circumcised and it was on the recomendation of most Pediatritions at the time. The rational was no different now than then. You and the usual Pro-Non circ posters in this thread were the first Antagonist, so don't be surprised if we Circ guys respond in kind.

So you agree the personal choice and the freedom to control the intactness of one's own penis is taken away by infant circumciision.

To me, somebody's religious "rights" don't extend to another man's penis (even his son's). Your desire to curry favor with a supernatural being doesn't override my right to control my own body and its physical intactness. And neither is it overridden by the "right" to be a lazy parent who doesn't want to teach his son the incredibly simple task of cleaning himself.

A parent's duty is to protect and preserve the rights of his child, not willfully violate them.

This is a thread about circumcision on whether parents have the right to operate upon their kids. I guess we can use it to discuss where parental rights begin and end with kids. No?
