The key words here is "Their infant" It's not anyone elses buisness and I don't understand why so many people are worried about childrens penises.

Only because the US condones it so that is what you see.

If you were in a gym shower in Canada or elsewhere outside the US, you might have a different opinion.

So you'd be ok with female circumcision if it were done only to female INFANTS?

If people weren't concerned with infants' penises, they wouldn't be whacking part of them off, and we wouldn't be having this discussion. Good grief!

Absolutely not. It is utterly unnecessary, the supposed health benefits are tenuous at best, and its removal does away with literally tens of thousands (~20,000 if I remember correctly) of extremely sensitive sexual nerve endings. No parents have the right to mutilate their child's genitals. Only the child in question should have the right to decide such things once they come of age and can make such decisions for themselves. It seems there are way too many people (on this board in particular) that think they have the right to do absolutely anything to their child, simply because it is theirs. It's almost as though they think of their child as a sort of property that they can modify physically and mentally as they see fit, regardless of what effect this might have on the child and possibly on society as a whole. Ridiculous, and damn irresponsible, if you ask me.

I would be of the opinion that I'm surrounded by a herd of anteaters and run for my life!...

For a country that seems to be so anti-muslim, we're the only westernized one that circumcises at the same rate as muslim countries. Given that it's a religious thing for them...what's our excuse?

Their children, not yours, stop thinking of childrens penises.

No. It's not about deflection. Parents do not have the right to do whatever they want with their infants (as your post implies). Right now they have the right to circumcise. But not to do *anything*.

Implying that the suffering or abuse of others is none of our business is kind of sick and sad, too.
