Can we just be honest in front of God and two people right now??

President's Day Weekend Sees Record Gas Prices Facing Americans Planning to Travel - YouTube

There is not a group in America that is more affected by this economy than black folk. My people!

They have had the highest unemployment rate for 3 y1/2 years! Gas is going to soar higher than when Bush was in office! We are talking 5 bucks!! But Obama goes and does this.......

Barack Obama rejects Keystone XL oil pipeline from Canada - YouTube

He offers a fat lie as an excuse!!

Now be honest......IF WE HAD THE SAME CONDITIONS UNDER A WHITE REPUBLICAN PREZ (unemployment and fuel costs) , WOULD WE BE HEARING THE DEAFENING SILENCE WE DO NOW, FROM THE BLACK COMMUNITY???

He needs to be held accountable just like any other white President before him!! We are giving him the kid gloves treatment and we know why!

But that's not even fair to him! What we are saying, BY SAYING NOTHING, is that our expectations of him were low to begin with!!

This country is in a mess! and we had a chance to get OIL from a friendly nation RIGHT NEXT DOOR!!!

And now the issues in Iran really mean something! They are affecting us!!

How in the world can black folks approve of this man's job at almost 95 percent??? Has race and pride blinded us this much???

Please don't tell me that we would not have had TWO "million-man" marches on the White House by now, if McCain had won and we had these conditions!!

All American voters will hold him accountable on Tuesday, November 6, 2012.

And it's a pretty good bet at this point that their accounting will elect him to a second term.

Well Romney/Obama are twins so it really doesn't matter. That is the way it's been set up for some time IMO. Once they get down brainwashing the masses into thinking Santorum is the next Jim Jones the media's job is done. They've done away with everyone else.

Based on the fact that for some odd reason, blacks are generally better at voting in their own self interest than whites are.

Meh. We've had roughly double the unemployment of white people for decades now, and one study after the next has shown that employers discriminate against black job seekers en masse. And we also know that gas prices are far more due to speculation from haedge funds than any pipeline - consumption is down, yet prices are up, just like under Bush in 2008. Why would anyone expect Obama to suddenly fix that, particularly given democratic reluctance, and republican hostility, to correcting the problem?

It has nothing to do with "low expectations", and everything to do with realism. Reactionaries that listen to Beck and Limbaugh are already screaming about how the health care bill or the stimulus plan are "reparations" and "Kenyan anti-colonialism", if they saw Obama actually try to address their racial hangups head-on, most of white America would explode. And that includes congress. So there's not much he can do, outside of changing the perception of black people as the job-stealing, AA hire who's lazy and won't get a job because of welfare (never mind that US racism is incoherent). If you didn't know that before he was elected, then you weren't paying attention to how the US has ever operated.

How is having $5 gas in our own self interest? Not sure how me paying 5 a gallon of gas helps me. Call me crazy but I think paying less in gas and having those extra dollars would be in my best interest

Here I offer up the classic case of Liberal Hypocrisy™:

Quote:
BOB SCHIEFFER: You were talking in a kind of a different way when unemployment went to five percent under George Bush. What you said then that Americans are struggling with skyrocketing energy prices, gas is only three dollars a gallon then. And you said this morning, this is January 4, 2008, “This morning’s jobs report confirms what most Americans already knew–President Bush’s economic policies have failed our country’s middle class.” I mean, aren’t Republicans entitled to say, you know, if then gas was three dollars and unemploymentwas five percent and– and– and the President has failed the American people, don’t they have a right to say that this President has failed the American people?

REPRESENTATIVE NANCY PELOSI: Well, if you want to go into the past, we can talk about the past all you want. The public wants to know about the future. What are you going to do to create jobs, good-paying jobs in our country?
Nancy Pelosi Blown Away Over Her Demagoguery Of Bush (When Unemployment Was 5% And Gas Was $3/Gal) « Start Thinking Right

If Liberals didn't know how to demogogue.....didn't know how to lie.....didn't know how to abstain from hypocrisy.......then we'd NEVER hear a peep out of them. It's ALL they know.

Yet black people and other people of color seem to fall for it hook, line, and sinker.

Embarrassing.

It's not. But it is only one of perhaps two dozen things that people consider when determining where their self interest lays.

Smart people are never one issue voters.
