What is funny is the best friend, politically speaking,of the unskilled laborer be he black, white or brown is the social conservative who probably don't care much for most of them. The social conservative is about the only one still in favor of restrictive immigration policies that have historically been favored by the parties of labor.

You gotta love how the GOP will say the Dems are keeping Blacks on a plantation and in the next breath bash the CRM as gov't stepping all over state's rights.

Now they are one in the same. The only difference is the speed they wish to go and the buddies that benefit.

Of course we're a big tent party.

There are lots of conservatives and moderates in the Democratic Party, particularly in the House and Senate. Even the liberals are generally nowhere near as liberal as the Republicans are conservative.

Here is something that I never understand about these threads. A republican/conservative will start some type of thread about how blacks never vote for republicans, get upset that Obama will 95% of the black vote, or democrats are the true racist. We'll respond by saying "if you want our vote, you have to convince us to get our vote" They respond by saying they shoudn't have to pander to us. Well if you aren't going to pander to us, why are you complaining about not getting the black vote? Its like a fat guy complaining skinny women don't find him attractive. The skinny women tells the fat guy to lose weight and he says he shouldn't have to lose weight to for skinny women to find him attractive. Well guess what, you'll continue not have skinny women find you attractive. Republicans, if you want the black vote, you have come into our neighborhoods, you have to create policies that will benefits black people. If you don't want to do that, quit making threads about how blacks don't vote for the GOP.

Then vote for Obama. The GOP will only do what is best for all Americans. They are fighting for a stronger economy, less loss of liberty and a secure country. They will fight for equal opportunity for ALL, not special treatment for some.

The GOP does not do anything that is best for all americans. They do whats best for rich white people. Democrats do what is best for the poor and middle class.

Right, you're not alone in failing that. And that's part of the problem. Democrats count on it so they can continue race baiting.

Of this, I have no doubt, fortunately the tooth less lower class whites that you refer to, while remaining in the Democratic Party, are not in the Parties leadership and as a result are not pandered to as they are by the Republican Party.
No -- the Democrat party will pander to anybody with votes or money.

Hence another reason why African Americans have to desire to be Republicans because African Americans of all economic levels know that saying everybody is equal doesn't make it so. As a result, why would African Americans side with a party that is so out of touch with the perceptions of African Americans?
Well, there you have it: the entitlement mentality on display.

You ask an absurd question like that without even a hint of irony. You know back in the 1960s that's actually what African-Americans wanted. They braved clubs and dogs and lynchings and burning crosses exactly for the right to be treated equally. You know, the whole "judge a man by the content of his character not the color of his skin" thing.

And now you're going why in the world would blacks support a party that considered them equal?

It really is a sad commentary on modern society.

Quote:
That is ludicrous, and bordering on the insane and black folks know it. So what is the Republican solution, to end this "modern day plantation" on the premiss that starving will suddenly produce a willing work force for jobs which don't exist?
The Republican solution is for blacks to be reponsible citizens just like everyone else. The solution is to stop fostering a victim mentality within the black community.

Quote:
Only a fool would turn down food on the table today for promises of food sometime in the future and even the dumbest African American is no fool.
Again with the gimme gimme gimme mindset. Republicans don't promise you food today or tomorrow. You get no promises from Republicans. What you get is self respect. You get to stand on your own two feet. Doesn't matter if you're white, black, Hispanic, Asian, Jewish, whatever. You get what you earn. Not more, not less.

Here's how it works - You eat the food you earn. I eat the food I earn. And neither one of us has to pay exorbitant taxes or surrender our personal choice in what, when, and where to eat because government regulations aren't involved.

I agree with your first statement, disagree with your second statement, and really disagree with your last statement.
