We can thank President Obama for one thing: starting a national conversation on the use of contraception.

It has been documented in other posts how the availability of contraception, due to the promiscuous and irresponsible lifestyle it promotes, has lead to increases in abortion, out-of-wedlock births, sexually transmitted diseases, and other social maladies.

It has also been explained how contraception has led to the explosive growth of government and the nanny state by eroding our natural support network - the extended family.

What is seldom discussed, however, is how "the pill" specifically poisons the bodies, lives, and relationships of women. A timely article by Mary Anne Moresco titled "Poisoned by the Pill: Truths About Chemical Contraception" reviews the facts:

"Each year, thousands of cases of cancer can be attributed to hormonal contraception.Any other drug (or heaven forbid natural supplement) which had been linked to so much cancer would have been yanked from the market long ago ..."

Please read the entire article.

I have no desire to read an article on contraception by a Catholic who is notoriously anti-contraception. If you choose not to use contraception, then don't. Luckily this is 2012, and most normal, sane people enjoy sex wihout guilt, and use the contraception that works best for them.

Is that how you make all of your decisions in life? Listen only to the side that tells you what you want to hear?

No we tend to look for unbiased sources not trying to promote their own agenda.

No one is claiming that oral contraceptives are risk free but, like Zimbochick, the last thing I want to do is to read about its pitfalls from a Catholic, anti-contraceptive writer. That's like reading about all the good things about oral contraceptives from Pfizer.

No drug is risk free. Not aspirin, not ibuprofen, not Tylenol, not statins, not fish oil, nothing. It is up to the patient to decide if the benefits of using the medication outweigh the risks. Anytime I've even attempted to use contraception, my gynecologist was very explicit about the risks associated with them and what to watch out for.

IMO, all drugs have a dark side. No benefit derived from any pill is free. They all come with another physical price, that's why I personally am very leary of popping any pills.

But to portray this type of medication as being evil--any more evil than the rest of them, is again just pushing your "agenda."

No, actually I prefer peer-reviewed science to the morality police.

Please, proof of any of this.

You delude yourself. 90% of what is written on contraception these days is heavily biased in favor of: 1) big pharma profits, and 2) making sure nothing stands in the way of the sexual revolution.

People love to shoot the messenger and dismiss the message if it might not be what they want to hear. Saves a lot of time verifying if that message has any merit to it.
