That’s 9 resignations in then eleven days, we have not included the other resignations from the likes of the head of the central bank in Switzerland a month ago, and the talk of the head of Goldman Sachs leaving. Why are the heads of very large financial instutitions resigning? Corporate governance experts would say that people resign to make room for new policies, and way of doing things, but this is a peculiar situation of contagion amongst those with key exposure.
The first to see the flame, usually leave the building, maybe this is not the case, nonetheless, such events with obvious patterns should be taken note of.

These CEOs have contracts that they signed when hired. If the rules of the game are changing then why not resign and move on?

The economy's having tough times, in case someone here didn't notice. When that happens, banks often take major hits, sometimes lot of them, and the balance sheet look pretty bad.

When balance sheets look bad in a bank, just as when win/loss records look bad in a baseball team, standard practice is to fire the boss.

I wonder how many of these "resignations" were completely voluntary?

This is just speculation on my part, but .... I think one theory on all these resignations could be that the financial world is cleaning house, so to speak. So some folks higher up these banking chains were given the choice of resigning or being arrested for fraud, amongst other illegal banking activities.

There is always more going on than meets the eye and what is reported in the lamestream media, if it ever even is.

Shake ups are happening. Certain people in power have certain other people biting at their heels and a lot of things are starting to change. Will it be for the better or worse? Time will tell. But in the meantime, I'd like to think that the law is hopefully catching up to most of these crooks and it's been long overdue.

I would imagine that they're tired of being vilified for doing things that were perfectly legal at the time, when many of the politicians that play the same game are preaching hopey-changey bull****.

So what?? I guess I'm not in the loop on these big banks and CEO's. Do they all run off like this all the time?? Are they heading for the Ark? Is the EU ready to implode and are getting while the getting is good? Something doesn't smell right here.

I agree. Something is sweeping through the system and these guys are either bailing or being told to bail.
