Correct, he did.

And he was able to get a voter registration card for someone(?) whose voting would be illegal, by a few simple strokes of a pen.

Doesn't that bother any of you?

I dunno...will they check his ID?

If the owner goes to jail it could be ruff on the dog.

How many fraudulent ballots were cast by the dog? Was a paw print used as a "signature"?

There are other checks and balances in place.

"Albuquerque dog becomes registered voter"

So what! The dog couldn't make stupider voting choices than the average American.

I have to show ID to vote. Maybe the dog has to show his dog license?

I vote absentee... give a call, get ballots in mail, vote... no ID required. Granted I got my voter registration card when I got my new drivers license when moving states, but never once have I since that point had to show an ID card to vote. The guy could have requested the dog vote absentee... and that vote would have counted....

He's a libertarian I hear--he's strongly against leash laws and anti-poop ordinances...

Let me engage in some wild, unrealistic extension here:

An illegal alien, or a convicted felon, walks up to that same voter-registration booth, makes up a birth date, makes up a fake Social Security number. Two weeks later HE has a voter-registration card in his hand.

Now, did you have a question?
