No, I don't. But I suspect that this is so; and there are considerable numbers of Mormons where I live.

Note the qualifiers "most" and "relatively".

There are facts that include the words 'most' and 'relatively'. A fact can include a statement of quantified uncertainty.

This is something I have a hard time trying to grasp.
If food is scarce a bird will produce 1 egg instead of 3, as is the same probably throughout the animal kingdom.
Why then do humans,without the means to provide for them continue to have babies.?
Is this the price of evolution?!

maybe it has something to do with alcohol and drug abuse. when you are poor you are probably pretty miserable and the way you escape is to abuse drink and drugs which makes you do stupid things like have unprotected sex.
