Maher is doing this because he sees the hypocrisy at work. He knows that, even with the left's blatant double standard, he could find himself in the cross-hairs like Limbaugh. After all, his remarks got him burned before.
At least Rush is married, Maher can't seem to get that far. Maybe it's because he doesn't want to or maybe it's after a few dates they figure out his ego is bigger than his hate for the GOP party.
