It's worth reading the entire article. I've included an excerpt.
Quote:
There's plenty more evidence in the Met Office report to support global warming. But the question from critics remains: how can we be sure this isn't just a natural phenomenon? Scientists haven't done a good enough job of communicating how they distinguish human versus natural influences, says Hegerl. The answer lies in climate models — massive computer simulations that allow the scientists to project climate effects in various scenarios, including those in which humans do not emit any greenhouses at all. "We go out of our way to check out other explanations — by assuming it's all explained by solar activity, or by solar activity plus volcanoes, or by combination's of any of the other natural forcings known to affect climate," says Hegerl.

According to the models, none of those combination's can produce the climate patterns currently being observed in the real world. Add the greenhouse gases that we know humans are generating (and which we've known since the 1800s tend to warm the Earth, all other things being equal), and the simulations finally come close to matching the real world. Its possible, albeit far-fetched, that the simulations are defective. It is even less possible that all of them (and there are many) are defective in the direction of overstating humanity's contribution to warming.

Bull pucky. The one thing that can be counted on - every time - is that the models are wrong. Every time.

Global climate is an incredibly complex system, with an almost infinite number of variables. The above statement is so incredibly arrogant and just outright wrong that I don't even need to go read the rest of the article. I already know from the quote above that it's nothing more than a propaganda piece, and not a very good one at that. I'd wager that I also wouldn't need to bother asking which data set they used for their modeling...

*chuckle*

How can they be sure? Well, the answer lies in the models!

And from the MET Office no less, yes... AGW is getting stronger every day! Stronger smelling.

Well, if the humans on this earth don't do something to effect a change in the direction, the insanity could very well stop.

And you base this on what? Oh, I think it is called "talking out of ones arse" correct? How dare we question these sages of environmental truth! How dare we question the great oracles of earth knowledge! We are heretics, speakers of falsehood who have damned the way of our mother earth through our inability to see truth as it is lain upon us by the divine interpreters.

Thank you brother, you have brought such revelation to our ignorant midst. We shall pay no heed to that which does not show evident, we will worship dear brother at the feet of those who know better than our simple understandings! Thank you! You have saved us all with your deliverance of such a powerful message of truth.

Where do I write my check dear brother? I wish to give everything I have to serve such a noble cause. My life is a meager sacrifice to the greater existence of the mother earth herself! I shall kill my own offspring in devotion to her and sacrifice my neighbors to her well being! Amen, may we praise the greater earth mother and her ever vigilant protectors!
