The fragile gains Republicans had been making among female voters have been erased, a shift that has coincided with what has become a national shouting match over reproductive issues, potentially handing President Obama and the Democrats an enormous advantage this fall.
If the GOP and it's pundits keep focusing on this non-issue, they are going to lose a large voting bloc. Some may vote for Obama, some may not vote at all. It's a lose-lose situation for the GOP.
Basically, women who run away from the GOP are wholly ignorant if the reason for running away is the contraception debate. That's my take on it. Why? Because the issue is religious freedom...not a war on contraception. Perhaps we don't want stupid women voting for us? Perhaps they're better suited in the Demagoguery Party?
The GOP is going to take a page from Rush's playbook and say that they didn't even want votes from women. In fact, some women are saying they are sorry and want to come back to the GOP, but the GOP are telling them to pound sand.
The women who base their voting on single issues like this are worthless peons anyway.

Are men or women who who vote only their party line across the board (which could be called a "single issue"), regardless of any other considerations also "worthless peons" in your opinion?
I don't believe women in general are any more "single issue voters" than men. But there can always be that one issue which pops up and, all things considered, can push them over the line. These might better be called thoughtful voters as opposed to "worthless peons".

Except the issue is religious freedom....not a war on contraception. That makes these "thoughtful voters" you speak of "worthless peons" for being woefully uninformed voters. Is that what you champion.....an uninformed electorate?
Public assessment of the parties on gender-specific issues is similar to what it was in 2000, and also reflects current divisions in the fight over funding of contraception.
At the same time, support for complete contraceptive coverage declines when the issue of religion is factored into the decision. Asked about employers who have religious objections — including affiliated hospitals and schools — support is more evenly divided.
In other words, nothing has really changed.
If you think women are stupid enough to fall for obama and the dems pandering to them and manufacturing an issue just to get them in his corner...you are sadly mistaken.

As you peruse this poll, keep in mind it is a poll of adults, ALWAYS more favorable to the democrats. Also keep in mind that the party ID gap is 7, about 3-5 points more than it should be.
While women are 12 points more apt than men to identify themselves as Democrats, that essentially matches the long-term norm. Largely because of that partisan gap, Obama’s approval rating is 9 points higher among women than men, but again this is typical. Compared with last month, disapproval of Obama’s job performance is up slightly among men, and there’s no increase in approval among women.
