Back when fuel got this high after Hurricane Katrina, I had to raise my labor rates substantially.

I was being able to reduce my rates back down, but not where they were.

Now with the fuel hike, all my sundries suppliers are going up again(they never came down)

Coming up on the quarterly, a quick calculation, and I must raise my rates 20% across the board.

The list of who is going to be able to afford my services, just got shorter.

How could you have lowered your rates if the input prices that caused you to raise your rates in the first place never dropped?

That makes completely no sense.

Fuel is my biggest cost monthly.
Some projects I supply no sundries, just labor.

Where did the OP say that NONE of his total overhead was decreased? He said his suppliers never went down. There are other costs involved in running a business... Some increases a estute business man can and will absorb to maintain his clientel, while other costs cannot be as readily absorbed.

Meh...you did what you had to do. When things get better, you'll go the other way. Oh well.

How did Obama raise gas prices? I didn't think he had that much power.

What's your product? What's your point? If the market can take a price increase, why didn't you have your prices higher in the first place?
