Okay. I'll say it once again. Isn't it time to think about HomeSchooling?

No, it isn't. An incident in Dade County, FL (Hardly a representative of average schools in this country) is not a reason for parents across the country to homeschool.

Which is the reason most of these parents (not all) homeschool. They're usually self righteous (often religious) extremists who are either a little nutty, paranoid, or have an irrational hostility toward teachers and the public school system. They justify it by jumping on every little story in the news (which they acutally search for to back up their premise) and then scream, "See? SEE??? Public Schools are EVIL!!!! EVERYONE! TAKE YOUR KIDS OUT NOW!!!!!i Meanwhile, these same people have never set foot in their own school in their own town. But they know everything about it, supposedly. I've met a few rational, sane homeschoolers who do so for good reasons. But they're a distinct minority.

Yup. I'm usually very understanding about having a clean slate, and it's good that he's decided to turn away from that. We all make mistakes, but this is different to me. Maybe it's because I'm a teacher, but it would be distracting to students, and frankly, a job like the sex industry, will impair your career options. You have to understand that when you sign up for it. We make choices in life. He can do another career, but working with kids in education where you're supposed to be a role model, shouldn't be one of them. Just my opinion.

And you don't think this sets a precedent? Have you never heard of the ACLU?

No, I don't. So do you actually think that schools across the country, from Miami to rural Iowa, are going to start hiring ex pornstars right off the bat? Really?! If you do, then you truly have no clue how public schools work and operate.

Here's an idea. Why don't you actually learn about public schools by not spending your days searching for the worst news stories about them. Talking to teachers and administrators in your own town might be a start. Seriously, try it out and get back to us.

For parents that can be home and do it, homeschooling is awesome and such a fun lifestyle. I was a homeschooling mom for over 12 yrs. because our daughters are 3 years apart in age.

Here is yet another huge peculiarity of our Communist president....the

"SAFE SCHOOL CZAR" that he chose....as if he even needed one.....was an activist of types of perverted behavior. In fact, I believe it was done to mess with our minds in true Psychopolitical Fashion....like a slap in the face to all of us that have kids in our lives that we love and care deeply for.

DIG THIS.....excellent page on this disgusting CZAR.

I already have had first hand experience in the public schools. After an experience in a fairly "conservative" town whose public school, which had been infiltrated by the left, attempted the most unethical indoctrination of my children imaginable, I started doing some research and we pulled out of the public school system. Not all schools are bad; but there are just not enough good ones to take the risk and things are headed south. Sorry, I know you are a teacher and this isn't meant to be personal.

Kind of like using the fox to guard the chicken coop. Glad he's gone; although his legacy lingers on...

Thanks for your civil post. Just so you know, I'm not taking this personally, but thanks for the disclaimer. Know also that though my experience with homeschoolers has not been positive overall, and it is their right to do so and that people do it for different reasons.

Sorry that your local schools made you unhappy, but I don't think that it's wise to tell people in a blanket statement "Take your kids out of public ed and homeschool" A better response would be to tell parents to do their homework about their district and school (which you apparently did) and see for themselves whether they want to send their children there.

In my experience, waaaaay too many homeschoolers that I've spoken to in my area have refused to send their kids to their local town schools, despite having decent test scores, lack of a liberal agenda etc. because of some stories they read in other schools around the country. Then they decide that because some school in New York or California did this, then their own school must do it too, without actually researching the school in their own backyard. It was that willingness to be uninformed, and then zeal in lecturing me about what supposedly goes on in the schools that I worked in, (that I knew wasn't true) that bugged me so much. I didn't take it personally, but it was extremely irritating.

Just my .02

I'm pretty darn conservative, but to deny him the right to teach because he legally made a living doing something you disagree with, is not right. Freedom is not equal, according to that thinking.

What if it was a smokin hot female porn actress?

Do you realize how many women that are now teaching, put themselves through college, working topless & totally nude bars.... Many!
