New York Times: "General Petraeus or General Betray us?"

Did anyone read the ad in the New York Times? I don't read the rag...

Read the CNN article about the ad at: New York Times: "General Petraeus or General Betray us?"

Are you really surprised that political discourse has stooped to that level. Look at what gets passed off as art, entertainment and intellectual pursuit these days.

Can't say I even raised an eyebrow on this one.

i can see why they thought it was funny to run the ad... but if you're going to spout something.. there better be facts to back up your reasoning.. otherwise its slander... its ok to criticize the government and the military leaders.. and it should be encouraged to always question your leaders.. but this was going a bit too far.. it was slanderous and in bad taste... come up with some factual dirt.. and then say it... until then.. stick to what you can prove....

IMHO our government, with its militaristic penchant for "world" domination and empire, has betrayed the people of the United States and our Constitution for the last 60 years or so.

Time to retutn to being a government "of the People, by the People and for the People" instead of a government of the "of the Corporation, by the financiers and for the Elites".

I didn't like it. I've been against the war since the beginning, but to insult the general that is atleast doing SOMETHING as opposed to the other generals in iraq, is insulting. Call out the government, or the policy makers, but the general didn't choose to invade Iraq.

AFAK - any Genral officer can retire or resign his comission before taking an assignment. General Petras is just another lacky of this administration stuck out on the borders of the empire. He, and we, did not have to go.

I'll bet it was just an average Joe that financed that elite size ad in the Times...

The adolescent mind-set of the Left is the only thing that keeps the Bush administration afloat.

You're in pretty bad shape intellectually when you can make this President look good by comparison.

Your post says a lot about your knowledge on the topic and your character in general.. If I didn't read in other posts that you served in Vietnam I'd dismiss it to youthful indiscression and ignorance...
