By your definition, then, every nonprofit organization is a political organization, from the American Cancer Society and your neighborhood house of worship to the Girl Scouts of America and your neighborhood battered women's shelter.

Can you get back on topic, which is about the arrest for indecent exposure of a President/CEO of a Planned Parenthood; an organization whose ethics have been frequently challenged and which is the subject of many current political debates.

READING IS FUNDAMENTAL

The gentleman was the president and ceo of a local Lubock chapter of Planned Parenthood. He was arrested for a Class B misdemeanor.

I have no doubt that he will be asked/forced/request to resign. Pretty much end of story.

Yes, reading is fundamental. Too bad so many people can't manage such a simple thing.

I could suggest the same of you.

Politics has nothing to do with this story. The story is not political; it is not of national interest. It has nothing to do with Planned Parenthood, or what it does or doesn't do. It has no bearing on the future of Lubbock itself, let alone Texas or the entire U.S. of A.

Instead, it is a local crime story and nothing for anyone (except those directly involved) to get their panties in a twist about.

Is that on-topic enough for you, OP? Stow your fake outrage and move on to more important topics.

No thanks. I think I'll stick around and see this one through. You, however, are more than free to leave.

I had never heard of Ted Haggard before his scandal, nor of the 'National Association of Evangelicals.' I've heard of Dobson, Swaggart, Warren, Robertson, etc. but never Haggard. If he did have millions of viewers, I'll concede, but is that really true? Link?

Planned Parenthood is a national organization, constantly in the news for one thing or another. As you so civilly and eloquently put it: get it yet?

Reading is indeed fundamental. My usage of the article "a" indicated I was fully aware that the man arrested for indecent exposure was President/CEO of a "local" Planned Parenthood. I'm glad that you have "no doubt" that he will resign and that will be the end of the story. I guess you can exit this thread and refrain from further posting. Now, some of us may want to continue to follow this Planned Parenthood connected story and see if anything else develops so just feel free to ignore the additional posting.

The same reason so teacher in a unknown town would be all over the national news for marrying a adult of legal age she taught like recently. It sells to viewers and the organization is a national one.But then why would people watch people on Jerry srpinger tellign some tales and acting it out;same reason.
