In a given year, most of us don't go to the hospital, or even have an expensive procedure like a colonoscopy. But then there are those other years. . . . my hip surgery cost $76,000 in hospital costs alone, and I was only there three days!
I think you exaggerate. It certainly needs changing, however, there is much that is right about it as well.
Actually, I agree with this statement
Copying someone else's system will not work. But the lesson we need to learn from the rest of the developed world is not that the quality of our healthcare is bad ..... because, in general, it is pretty good and on a par with most other 1st world health systems. No, the lesson is that we are paying far too much for what we are getting.
So lets have a constructive and bi-partisan discussion about how we can make health care more affordable in this country.
You mean like evolution? Your species got here via evolution and it was nasty. It left the worst of the worst to die immediately and the weaker to die slowly.
The median barely got by and lived on just enough to survive and the strongest most intelligent brought forth humanoids.
Of those humanoids, the weakest and least capable died off very quickly while only the strongest survived and evolved into what you see today as your fellow man and woman.
Now, since you think you've got unlimited funds, you think you can keep all those people alive and it's not going to affect your society at all, not one bit.
Well, modern humans have basically quit evolution in favor of humanity. And I think it is a good thing, it sets us apart from animals in the jungle.
Genetically yes, but we are way more than that.
Every doctor, every hospital, every relief organization etc. is a slap in the face of old-fashioned evolution.
The selfishness that is exhibited by about 1/2 the country.
More mindlessness.
