Lack of pipeline sweet crude to blame.

Gas futures will push regular gas above $4.

If they aren't getting the oil to refine then it would be no difference if they close.

Im surprised people aren't concerned about how we haven't built a new refinery in 30 years. Seems they just aren't where they need to be.

It intrigues me just how short people's memories are and how easily they panic.

Fuel prices vary from time to time and from place to place all the time. Heck, it was just last summer that I was paying $4.08 per gallon in Michigan, but who remembers that now? It's as if gas prices today are the first time we've ever seen it and the simpletons go rushing off the deep end once again screaming "It's the end of the world!"

Well...no it's not. Prices will come down eventually and the economy will survive. It always has.

The only difference this time is that it's an election year. The opposition party and their media mouthpieces have an interest in feeding the frenzy for advantage in November and the frightened lemmings with no memory beyond yesterday swallow it whole.

They switched from the economy (getting better/ more jobs) to gas prices.
Not a bad plan. A lot of America is made up of people who don't look at the background of why/how things happen.

Blame this guy. It's a lot easier.

Maybe that northeast refinery is going out of business due to the already over abundance of refined petroleum and the pipelines that carry it ..Or maybe the paticular company is being totally mis managed.
I think after looking at a map of all the pipelines blaming the postponement of one particular pipeline as a major issue is a bit lame

Lol, I would love for the Dems to run on how great the economy is, it is a sure loser for them. It is interesting how the left doesn't view inflation as an economic issue.

Why is it lame to you? Do you have a particular expertise in energy infrastructure? Is that cartoon intended to be evidence of something?

Or you can just keep blaming Bush. It got a lot of stupid people to vote for Obama in 2008, and will undoubtedly get stupid people to vote for him again in 2012.

Several years ago, they were trying to build a refinery in eastern South Dakota. Environmentalists went ape nuts, eventually put enough pressure on politicians, and got the project nixed. This very thing has happened repeatedly over the last 20 years. Jobs were lost, tens of millions of dollars of tax revenue lost, and the price of gasoline just keeps going higher.

Thank you, liberal nut-jobs!

Which cartoon are you referring to as i dont remember posting a cartoon? I do remember posting a couple of graphs on current oil and gas pipelines in the USA, as for my expertise in energy infrastructure? probably as relevant as yours, but common sense would dictate the postponement of one pipeline is not going to cripple the USA or affect the price of gas in any significant way, to infer it is IMO is a lame excuse to to blame Americas problems on .
