For a lawyer you seem to have a difficult time with this concept.
The absence of an arrest does not mean that probable cause does not exist. I already explained this upthread. Criminal defendants aren't always arrested.

For example, you could be sitting in your trailer, customarily munching on your hot pockets, when you get a letter from the mailman with the return address "U.S. Attorney's Office." The letter will basically say, "We have enough evidence to put you in jail." This is a courtesy that is typically only extended to rich white guys who live on Long Island and in Connecticut, but you never know. They may send one to the trailer park one day.

WHAT TO DO IF YOU RECEIVE A TARGET LETTER

He's probably on a no-fly list now. The feds need to suspend/revoke his passport.

So you think with all of this attention and pressure the authorities are under to make an arrest that they would not arrest him if they could?

He might well be under FBI surveillance at this point. If that's the case, he won't make it to the airport. Would imagine that's partly why they got involved. DOJ's civil rights division is just there to investigate the circumstances to determine whether they can prosecute this guy in the first place, but FBI can keep tabs on him. If he attempts flight, he can be apprehended and then the Dept. of State or a federal judge could take his passport. Done.

I read all these posts already convicting Mr. Zimmerman.

Did anyone pay attention to a witness named John who called Trayvon into 911 for beating the hell out of Zimmerman who had a broken nose and so forth?
He was watching Trayvon pounding Zimmerman into the groud despite Zimmerman's cries for help?
Won't racism not be an issue as well since Zimmernan is a Hispanic male with black family members?

This is very true.

Also if you run a red light and kill someone, you get a ticket.

Same thing when a motocyclist is killed by a car. "I didn't see them", you get a ticket.

A Tampa area dentist drove drunk and killed two college students walking on the sidewalk from their jobs at downtown Tampa hotel.

This is going on two years now and still no trial. They did revoke his license but neighbors say he drives, yet nothing is done about it. He is still is a practicing dentist.

In "liberal" CA a drunk driver ran a red light and killed 3 people in the other car around the same time. He is now in jail serving a 53 yr sentence.

Get caught with a bag of weed, you're looking at jail time in FL.

But drive drunk and kill someone, gets you a slap on the wrist.

Very strange state.

Trayvon jumped him, and though he wished the teen didn't force him to shoot I doubt he felt there was anything else he could do except maybe to allow Trayvon to continue beating him to death.

Did someone tell him not to leave town? If so I doubt he would.

The best recent example of an arrest not occurring in the face of very obvious probable cause:

BERNARD MADOFF.

Harry Markopolos wrote the SEC, begged the SEC, to look into Madoff Securities. He provided mathematical models, charts, and graphs showing that Madoff's business was completely fraudulent. He even made a presentation before the U.S. Attorney's Office in Boston. And the Feds had already received multiple tips about Madoff running a Ponzi scheme. But the Feds just gave the Kanye shrug and kept it moving.

After 20 years and billions of lost dollars that could have been saved, Madoff now sits in a federal prison.

It appears that Zimmerman is being judged by the news media under pressure from the black community. If there were a reason to charge Zimmerman it is still up to a jury to find him guilty. It is sad that a life was lost, but we have no idea what happened and the news media is only reporting speculation and outrage. Where are the facts?

In America a person is innocent until proven guilty.
