I moved to Canada in 1972 when Nixon was re-elected (well, the risk of being drafted for Vietnam was also a consideration).
I moved back home during the Ford administration (he was not elected), but had to pack up again and move to Iran when Carter was elected.
That did not go too well, so in 1979 I moved back home (the cat was sure glad to see me).
Of course, I had to move again when Reagan was elected; I went to Grenada. I moved back home three years later (I was expecting a letter at home), but had to move again upon the Gipper's re-election, this time to Spain.
From Spain to Fort Worth; then to Panama when the Elder Bush was elected. Back to Fort Worth, then to the south of France when Clinton was elected. I like the beaches, and women, of France so much that I kept my apartment for my return should Clinton win re-elected, which, of course, he did.
I thought all was safe and so moved back home just in time for the Younger Bush to be elected president, so off I went again, this time back to Canada (mail, again). Back home, packed some more items, then off again to Switzerland after his re-election.
For the Obama-McCain election I was undecided: should I move to China, or to Egypt? I decided on China if McCain, Egypt for Obama. You know what happened next.
Anyway, I am back home with my long-suffering cat, Freckles. We (for Freckles demands that she goes with me this time) are looking at our options in case Obama wins re-election, or if one of the Republicans win. Not knowing who will win the Republican nomination has impeded my selection. However, if Obama wins, then we are going to Greece.
If Mr. Paul happens to win, then to Tonga (where a job opening for King just opened).
If Mr. Romney wins, I think to Ireland (I really enjoyed St. Patricks day).
If Mr. Santorum wins: probably Sweden. Indeed, after looking at some of the photos of the women, I may just go there regardless.
So, you have a history of running from your problems and never facing them.
I got it. No responsibility and fear, leads us where?
It's clear from reading this forum and others that some people simply won't be able to stand living in a country that re-elects Barack Hussein Obama. Assuming he does defeat Romney/Santorum/whoever, will some conservative types resort to leaving the country? Could there even be suicide pacts so that some can save themselves from Obama's regime? Maybe even stories where parents kill their children and then themselves to save their kids from a bleak future?
I remember when Rush Limbaugh and others said they would leave the country if Obama was first elected, but didn't follow through. Will we see some really leave the USA or end their lives, rather than live under a fascist/socialist dictatorship?
Lol, no biggie. The Republicans will control both houses of Congress. The SCOTUS, will pitch the mandate, and all will be right with the world.
