republicans come across as likeable in a lot of ways , as a foreigner , i associate the quientesential american as closer to a republican than a democrat , unshakeable optimism , family values orientated , hard working , never say die spirit , i find it peculiar however that republicans fully buy into the notion of american exceptionalism with no exceptions , such ideals put into practice rarely end well when it comes to foreign policy , republicans seem to believe that america is incapable of following anything but an entirely benevolent and morraly righteous foreign policy path

Because republicans are self serving scum just as democrats, perhaps just the lesser of two evils, that is all.

My problems with Democrats/lefties and liberals:

Their constant desire to create social programs that are bankrupting our country and keeping people in the entitlement nanny state and taking from all self-supporting Americans to fund it.

Their constant war on the working class (see above) and advocating for illegal aliens to take our jobs.

Their constant desire to snoop into other's bedrooms and when a life is created don't be responsible for it just end it with abortion.

Their constant fear/warmongoring and Chickenhawking. Yep!

Their constant unbridled hypocrisy and lying(do as I say,not as I do). Yep!

Ad nauseum

The attempt to dictate female reproductive decisions and their desire to line the pockets of the rich even further. Someone who spends their life solely in pursuit of money is just someone who spends their life in search of money. Greedy is just greedy. It isn't a particular virtue that should be rewarded in the tax code.

Wah, wah, wah. The playing field was leveled long ago. Time to end AA and every minority and woman (and I am a woman myself) to pull themselves up by their bootstraps. Marginalizing children, animals and the environmment? Did you write that with a straight face?

I am a pro-lifer and pro-capital was is wrong with those positions? As for the wars, I think we should only go to war to defend ourselves on our own soil. So not all conservatives think alike you know but the left likes to claim so. Demonize an entire party, right?

Today's Republicans are very different from traditional Republicans and it is the NEW Republicans that have turned me from an Indpendent (who use to vote for both parties) into a Democrat (who wouldn't vote for one of these NEW Republicans for a million dollars.

1. They have sold their soul....and our country....to the lobbyist and their owners
2. They refuse to work together across the aisle to accomplish things that are of vital interest to our country. They will even vote against their own bills if they think it will hurt the president.
3. They, and their talking heads, have turned countryman against countryman....making us look at one another as "the enemy" at the very time we most need to pull together. They do this because they know that if they can keep us at each other's throats we won't pay attention to what they and their owners are doing.
4. They have made the poor and the working class the scapegoat so that people won't assign the blame where it belongs...on the wall street con men and bankers that are the ones who truly destroyed this country's economy with their greed and dishonesty.
5. They have lost their honor. The party use to have real statesmen and women. Now they have whining, vicious, attack dogs.
6. They have no respect for women, minorities, gaus, or anyone who isn't a rich white man.

And people who spend their lives trying to get something for nothing and have other people pay for their bad decisions is the true definition of GREEDY and LAZY!

By doing such as that, they not only endanger our Republic and our whole political system, but it endangers the life of the man himself. Their attempt to delegitimize the President of the United States feeds the radical hotheads who can't separate fantasy from fiction and one of them will take it upon himself to "solve" the problem.

I'm not at all convinced that's not what their goal is.
Ok I will bite what lies. I presume you mean elected republicans

1. The almost complete takeover of the party by religious extremists.

2. The fact that the GOP platform is almost entirely based on what groups of people to hate and fear mongering about an endless parade of "isms" (terrorism, socialism, secularism, optimism).

3. Blatant hypocrisy on certain issues - talk about reducing the deficit while beating the drums for more wars.
