Then the church should get out of business if they can not follow the laws all other businesses have to follow.

That would put a strain on the people they serve everyday. I really don't think Obama cares though. Just as long as he pays off PP for getting him elected. The feminists are pulling his strings.

Sorry, you want to play the game, you have to play by the rules.

They think they should be exempt from the rules (and taxes) because they are a church.

But, when they get caught doing ungodly things ... like child abuse ... they are happy to use the rules to avoid paying compensation to their victims.

If you are a practicing Catholic, why should the church not influence your opinion about politics?

I don't know where people are going to get their drugs, that is not the topic. They just cannot expect the church to pay for their supplies that blocks life or takes life.
The church isn't paying for the contraceptives. The insurance company is.

Your thread title asks a different question than the original post.

Are Catholic issues important to me?

In a way, yes. For instance, such issues as social justice, treatment of the poor, economic justice, and the rejection of wars of aggression, about which the Catholic Church has very strong positions, are all important to me, and my electoral positions would generally align with the policy positions of the Catholic Church.

On the other hand, issues such as equality for women and for all families, women's self-determination, access to fundamental health care, sexual liberation, birth control, and abortion rights are also important to me. I think the Catholic Church is wrong on all of these issues, and my voting decisions are in direct contradiction to what the church I used to be a member of says.

The church self-insures at many places but even when they don't we all know the insurance companies pass along the cost so bottom line, the church still pays.

Who are you addressing this question to?

Muslims? Jews? Atheists? Pagans? Who?

Unfortunately too many took your bait.

Maybe you should start your next thread like this:

Hey! All you Muslims out there...does the Koran influence your life and political thought process?

You could add a disclaimer too: Terrorists need not answer.
