It's a 7.6 mag. earthquake in Mexico, lots of people probably died. Why on earth wouldn't this be reported?

All I hear on Fox is that there was very little damage inland and no serious injuries outside the epicenter of the quake. However, you can't believe what they say, I have been told.
Why do you automatically assume that the taxpayers are paying for it? Other than the Secret Service protection, which Malia has at all times anyway, I think it's perfectly safe to assume that her parents paid for it out of their pockets.
I seem to remember the Bush twins having a pretty active social life and I'm pretty sure the Secret Service accompanied them on their many trips and barhopping adventures.
