If I were the Devil I wouldn't be spending time on the internet reading political blogs.

"If I were the devil, I’d educate authors in how to make lurid literature exciting so that anything else would appear dull an uninteresting. I’d threaten T.V. with dirtier movies and vice versa. And then, if I were the devil, I’d get organized. I’d infiltrate unions and urge more loafing and less work, because idle hands usually work for me. I’d peddle narcotics to whom I could. I’d sell alcohol to ladies and gentlemen of distinction. And I’d tranquilize the rest with pills. If I were the devil, I would encourage schools to refine yound intellects but neglect to discipline emotions . . . let those run wild. I would designate an athiest to front for me before the highest courts in the land and I would get preachers to say “she’s right.” With flattery and promises of power, I could get the courts to rule what I construe as against God and in favor of pornography, and thus, I would evict God from the courthouse, and then from the school house, and then from the houses of Congress and then, in His own churches I would substitute psychology for religion, and I would deify science because that way men would become smart enough to create super weapons but not wise enough to control them."

1965: 'If I Were the Devil' (Warning for a Nation) - Paul Harvey - Paul Harvey - Fox Nation (http://nation.foxnews.com/media/2012/03/21/1965-if-i-were-devil-warning-nation-paul-harvey - broken link)

*GENIUS* because it obviously was almost prophetic since it came from the year that it did. Of course even back then there were clues to what was coming.

We could have fun and add to this, so I think I will.

If I were the devil I'd create a political party that promised welfare for all. I'd "love" people no matter what they were or were not, did or didn't do and take care of their every need. This would make them much too dependent upon me, and I'd succeed in controlling the world just as a good devil should do.

oh, this is funny what Michelle Obama said.

It's how they talk to us, it's how they talk to other people, you know. It's kindness, it's empathy, it's respect. Those are the things that we can give them when we remind them that is more important than anything that they'll ever had. And then we take their stuff away if they don't do it. 'Give me that.'

Ahhh, yes. If only the Devil were actually as easy to spot as that red suited, horned, pointy tailed guy all kindergartners see him to be...
