What a bunch of ignorant libs. Your boy has put the brakes on what should be 5 - 7 % GDP growth after such a steep recession and such expansive federal reserve policy and $trillions of government spending to goose the economy. Obama's ridiculous regulations on banking, healthcare. and the environment are suppressing the economy. His stupid green energy policy and war on fossil fuels has hurt job creation and consumer spending. His looming tax increases are keeping people from taking on any debt and killing the housing industry. He is a pathetic loser. When oil prices were up in the Bush administration, W relaxed regulations on drilling offshore and prices immediately dropped. That is leadership. When our country had the worst attack in our history, W rebuilt the depleted Clinton military and kept us safe for the remaining 7 years of his presidency. That is leadership. He called for for changes in Fanny and Freddie from 2001 to 2008. That is foresight. He spent too much, but nothing compared to your idiot.

He is?

What is he doing - besides creating a mess?

And the mess you refer to was created by the Democrat controlled Congress.

Missed this earlier, but will comment.

For the record, I don't blame Bush entirely for the recession, and in fact, I have actually caught crap from lefties for pointing out that Bubba and his hand-picked Vichy democrats (Summers and Rubin) went right along with anything-goes Greenspan and rode the high-tide that was the Roaring 90s. So no, I absolutely do not blame Bush all by his lonesome. It took a village of political opportunists and econotards to sink this ship.

But the truth is, this steaming pile of turd has been brewing in the bowels of the American economy for probably a good 30-35 years. A lot of presidents are culpable, as are a lot of members of congress. All too willing to take lobbyist money and sell the American middle class down the river without protecting them.

Understand, I am not even anti-globalism. I think globalism and international trade (WTO and NAFTA, etc) are good for the American economy, and I have disagreed with some of the occasional leanings of this administration toward protectionism, which is not going to help the American worker. Protectionism was a disastrous response to the 1929 stock market crash and it made the Depression even worse, so I hope we don't go that route again. But, but, but...you cannot have a free-for-all market economy for big corporations and not protect the dying middle class workers who get laid off. They need retooling, re-education. Dare I say, they need more socialism...mixed in with capitalism of course.

Who says it should be 5-7 percent? You?

"He is a pathetic loser". Oh wow, thanks for the thoughtful, balanced, analysis.

As for W. rebuilding the military...yeah, maybe. It's just too bad he didn't have the brains to know what to do with it.

What should he have done with it?

49 Republicans - 49 Democrats. Two Independents, one leaning left, and one right.

The Democrats didn't control the Senate. In the event of a tie, the Republican Vice President casts the deciding vote. If anyone had the Senate, it was them.

In the House, a 30 seat majority. To pretend they had any major pull is ridiculous...

You have your numbers wrong. The 111th Congress at its end consisted of -

Senate: 57 Democrats, 41 Republicans, 2 Independents(who sided with the Democrats)

House: 255 Democrats, 179 Republicans (a 76 vote margin).

Congress was controlled by the Democrats from Jan. 2007 - Jan 2011 and caused the mess you like to say Obama inherited. Guess what - Obama was one of those 57 senators with (D) after their name. He created his own mess.
