Let the NFL sort it out, the federal government doesn't need to be involved. How cute that he thinks this is somehow an issue worth making a federal committee for, instead of fixing his own damned state or God forbid doing something productive in the senate.
What the hell does this have to do with government? The Government needs to stay out of sports. If a crime has been committed then the Police and District Attorney will of course intervene, but to set up a Judiciary committee about abuses in sports is ludicrous.
Well, I have not seen all the video's, but my question is....how many illegal hits were there? Most seemed to be legit.......and if they were not legit..did they get fined...punished?
Football is a "how bad you are" sport....if you don't hit hard or play hard....you will get run over....

What does this have to do with the government? Are you serious?
Football is a dangerous game at all levels, showing even college and high school kids have brain damage from playing. It's a public safety issue. Remember, President Theodore Roosevelt was thinking about banning the game due to the number of serious injuries and death that was taking place about 100 years ago.
These are the kinds of actions that get things done.
Sen. Dick Durbin is setting up a Judiciary Committee hearing about bounties in the NFL and other major sports in the wake of news that New Orleans Saints players received extra cash for hits that hurt particular opponents.
The assistant Senate majority leader, an Illinois Democrat, says he wants to examine whether federal law should make such bounty systems a crime.
Really??
Please - a thousand times NO - stay out of it feds.
Durbin needs to worry about passing a budget for the first time since Barack became president.
