All the naysayers i.e. China is over extended, they've grown too fast, blah blah blah can put their foot in their mouth. The only thing the US knows how to build and export anymore is bombs and war. While we are signing $60 billion dollar arms deals with Saudia Arabia and threatening Iran and Syria with military intervention, China is building billion dollar refineries and signing huge oil deals. Haha and we as dumbed down Americans wonder why there will be gas shortages and huge lines and probably $5+ gas this summer while US refineries are shutting down. LOL.......but that's ok.............Target and JCP I hear are having huge sales and Dancing with the Stars is having it's best season yet!!!!!!!!!!! I mean after all it's more important that Whitney Houston's death and the bobble head Etch A Sketch sound bites be plastered all over mainstream news instead of REAL news that affects ALL Americans.

Saudi Arabia And China Team Up To Build A Gigantic New Oil Refinery – Is This The Beginning Of The End For The Petrodollar?

I would say China is a Super Power in its own rite.

How long till it is on par with America as an Ultra Super Power?

30-40 years maybe.

Ooops looks like this was already posted. But to answer your question you're crazy if you think it will take that long. China is rapidly increasing its military funding. They are designing the next latest and greatest anti-carrier missiles, stealth fighters etc. Plus they are making deals all over the world for natural resources and somehow some way managing to stay out of endless, unnecessary wars.

Uh only if America stays stagnant and doesn't continue to grow. The US and Canada dragging Mexico along will be the Dominant Super Continent in about a century.

Our positioning between the Atlantic and Pacifc has seen to that.

There are 5 Chinese for every one American. Even if they only have a fraction of the wealth each American has China will simply have more than the USA and will need more of everything from oil to water and food. With wealth comes technological and military power and why shouldn't the largest and on agregate richest nation have its voice heard and obeyed. Americans up to now for the last century have expected nothing less. Why shouldn't China? That will be the story of the next century and Americans will need to learn to accept this basic fact. If we don't the Chinese will simply dispose of us.

China is doing well because it simply buy a nation's resources instead of trying to steal them like the British and the US. They can purchase without spending vast amounts of money on a military to police our empire.

Haha what utter garbage. Dragging Mexico along? Mexico, being a complete and utter failed narco state and with rampant mass illegal immigration into the US is killing us. They don't have to be "dragged" along. They are dragging us DOWN!!!! You honestly believe that kool aid you are using to drink yourself into a child like stupor? Sure all that cheap Mexican labor is great. We can buy strawberries for $4 a pound meanwhile Nacho's kids are costing us millions in education and healthcare.

Russia and China in tandem have enough resources, people, and coming technology to completely change the face of power in the next 50 years. American kids can barely read, write and do basic algebra by the time they graduate high school. The future leaders of America vs. the future leaders of other up and coming superpowers are from different worlds. American kids better wake up and realize it's going to take a lot more than "facebook" and "sports" to keep their country at the top of the global food chain.

Well if we get over the Obama bump in by 2030 we can be self sufficient in crude and have huge reserve in Natural gas. You do not think those huge refining projects on the gulf coast being completed was was not planned carefully;do you. By 2030 we will be likely energy self sufficient and exporting product. Since you cannot by law export crude from US because of law and no do so;what you see is that we will be exporting refined product. Then of course if you pay attention LNG maybe shipped from Alaska to Japan. Government may be frozen in energy debate and not even able to produce a policy but industry has move on in planning.Energy is perhaps the bright spot cost wise in US future manufacturing compared to china which must import most crude .That is why such things as solar hot water heaters are selling well in China for instance but are not cost efficient here.I suggest to pay More attention to what is happen g in industry and less on polcial deabte rethoric;';really. If so you would know Obama annoncement yesterday in Okalahoma was pure rethoric because he does not have approval on that part of the pipeline at all.In time the entire pipeline will be done as the cost savings alone between pipelined and other transport will be a huge difference in cost of crude to final processing refinery.Of course China needs to build trefinig capacity has they growth in crude is ever increasing need for energy. Its alos why solar hot water heaters make economic sense there bu ot most other countries. Just looking at NG Japan pays 17.00 dolars for what we pay 2.00 dollars for.Of course China is on track to become the second super power with its huge market of consumers tyhat is as it developed once they start shifting to capitalist markets but still alot of reform to be done.

So, what is the solution?

First off the most important thing we have to do is start cleaning up government. I mean seriously, we have such an utterly corrupted group of men and women running this country it's pathetic. We have A LOT of good laws, systems, regulations, processes in place that have been greatly corrupted by the clowns and conmen we have in Washington. We don't need more laws on the books and bigger government. We need less special interest, getting big money out of politics. You cannot implement anything when you have the level of corruption and special interest in this country. Too many politicians pan handling and groveling to lobbyists, special interests and big money instead of the greater good of the country. So how do we clean up government? How do we get big money out of politics? By voting for someone like Ron Paul....but look how that's turning out. He's the most honest and consistent politician running whether or not you agree with any of his ideology. American's need to put down their political spectrum and pick up their moral compass. We need to start electing leaders based on their honesty. Ron Paul would be a good start.

IF and this is a big IF we had honest politicians and an efficient government that stood with the people the first thing I'd change is our monetary system.

1) HONEST DEBT FREE MONEY issued by our government and not by private banks. This was the MOST important thing to our founders like Jefferson and Jackson. Bankers and the federal reserve system have been bleeding this country dry and putting us in perpetual debt unnecessarily.

Until we clean up government and implement #1 nothing else matters.
