The pastor should be free to spout his hatred, better we let him speak and demonstrate what an un-Christlike a$$ he is, if silent that might not be so obvious.

No...THAT is taking them out of context...re-read Matthew again...he was talking about hypocrits within the synagogues and how we are NOT supposed to act LIKE them...it's very simple in black and white....I REALLY hope you are not being used as a Sunday school teacher with you misunderstanding the WORD so bad at this point in your walk.

Tebow is getting his only reward here, admiration by the unknowing....Not saying he is doing it on purpose, but maybe he should study about the ONE he professes to worship a little better and skip the public displays.

If Tim Tebow were a Muslim he still won't be able to throw a football accurately. HS QB's can throw better than this guy.

If Tebow were Muslim the liberal media wouldn't be mocking him for his virtuousness but instead worship him as a brave, honorable, multi-cultural role model, hero of the free world.

I did teach Sunday School - and was considered to be competent. You have failed to convince me that the passage in Matthew that you cited has anything to do with Tebow. Jesus was always criticising the attitude of the heart when he denounced the Pharisees. One should not be praying for public approval but to honor and glorify God. Using your logic - Christians are not supposed to spread the gospel - how do you reconcile your view with Matthew 28:18-20?

Tebow has spent most of huis career in Denver ... the "Jesus freak" capital of the world is right down the road in Colorado Springs.

He will now have to adjust to a more cosmopolitan market, and one where the mass media can be much more forceful.

Religious leanings set aside for the moment, I wish him well. But I fear he's going to be walking bare-butt into a snake farm. Soebody, somewhere is going to see a whole loota bucks to be made from controversy.

It would have been much more interesting if he had been traded to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. (Anybody else remember how they "roughened" their image a few years ago? - even the mascot -- a male with a an effeminte-looking get-up and a knife in his teethj -- was disparaged as "gay".)

It's gonna be a three-ring circus up in Zoo York.
