Where is The whole decision? Not another case with a single sentence mentioning minor v happersett.
That is the whole decision.

That's the whole Justia screw up. You could wipe out the whole Justia website and nothing would be scrubbed. It is not the place professionals go to see what Supreme Decisions say. Not a single SCOTUS decision was affected the tiniest but by Justia's data base screw up.
This alleged "investigation" was supposedly 6 months old at the time of Arpaio's March 1 press conference... and this is the first time he is making any effort to ask the Selective Service is the registration card is real?
Wouldn't that have been the very first step a competent investigator would have made?
Wait it gets worse:
Arpaio has also failed to make any effort to contact the State of Hawaii, The Hawaii Department of Health or the Hawaii Attorney General regarding the birth certificate.
But I guess that's what happens when your "lead investigator:" is actually an unemployed former used car salesman.
No, the investigation is still in progress as this article explains. The timing on when they determined the selective service card was fraud was not given. It would not be unusual for the "next step" after determining fraudulent selective service card to be started now.
As far as Hawaii goes, again this would be a "next step" to contact Hawaii after they determine the birth certificate was fraud and again the timing is not unusual.
The news conference was to provide the public the conclusion of the initial investigation which was limited in scope. The purpose of the initial investigation was to determine if Obama was eligible to be on the Maricopa country 2012 ballot for president. They investigated the eligibility documents available from the White House which primarily was the birth certificate posted on the White House web site. They completed this initial investigation and determined Obama was not eligible for the Maricopa country ballot but they also uncovered additional evidence that leads to other crimes that are not under the jurisdiction of Maricopa County. The Sheriff has forwarded the additional information to the appropriate congressional authorities and the Sheriff recommended a full investigation at the federal level. The Sheriff is continuing his investigation to the extent that it applies to Maricopa Country concerns and the selective service fraud applies.
1) Both the National Archives and the Birther writer admit that the "missing week" were the result of a quality control screw-up when the records were first copied to microfilm 50 years ago. So once again, the Birthers are actually claiming that a conspiracy to elect Obama to the Presidency goes back to his infancy. One has to wonder why, if these conspirators were brilliant, powerful and perspicacious enough to imagine in 1961 that a half-black kid could ever be president, and then capable enough to pull it off a half century later, they couldn't have just picked a kid born here.
2) The "missing week" is for foreign flights arriving in Honolulu. In 1961, flights into the US from Kenya would never have entered at Honolulu. They would have entered at New York.
Chalk up another one for epic Birther stupidity.
You've overlooked a key factor that could shatter your common sense approach to this.
My theory is that TIME TRAVELERS did it. They knew Obama would be elected president...so they traveled back to remove any evidence that would stand in the way of his keeping his office after the mean old birthers found out the "truth."
Thanks for injecting some sanity in this. Honestly--some of the birthers on here need to get out of the house and take up a hobby. I'm worried about their mental health...
Gee I sure hope these birthers are personally paying for all the "research" work involved in their quest. I would really hate to find out the taxpayer is financing this. I am still reeling from the hundreds of millions of tax dollars Kenneth Starr spent in his pursuit of that Obscure Object of His Desire: Bill Clinton's Little Bill.
