Have you noticed that the race-baiting in US media has gotten a lot worse since Obama's election? Race-baiting equals high ratings for the media while delivering another black eye to the rest of America. In the end, America loses while corporate media makes of piles of money by exacerbating race relations. Why do we allow this?
The sad fact is, if Zimmerman were BLACK this story wouldn't even make the front page of the local paper or TV news because black on black crime is still far more prevalent than whites or hispanics committing crimes against blacks. Black kids shooting and killing other black kids? ho hum "business as usual"! How's that for progressivism?
Prove it. Some creepy wannabe cop, against the orders of 911, follows a child coming back from 7/11 while on the phone with his mother. The guy shoots the unarmed minor to death and you're pissed off at what? The media for covering the case?
Do you know how many kids go to 7/11 in this country? Should they stay at home now? The only one making this racial in this thread is you. A child of ANY race shot to death for going to the store to get a candy bar and a soda is news anywhere.
You might want to look in the mirror here. If the kid is white, what do you think the odds are that you'd be thinking that the perpetrator should be going to a jury of his peers.

Yes, dozens of people get shot like this kid everyday. But usually the police arrest and charge someone.
I might add that it took a month of the Martin families efforts to get the story even on the front page of the local news.
Would anyone like to ask the OP (I don't have the patients) to explain the media bias when it comes to JonBenet Ramsey, Natalee Holloway, Elizabeth Smart, Polly Klass or Caylee Anthony?
By the way, the reason for Mr. Squeaky Clean Record Zimmerman's county orange photos was because he was booked for assault on a police officer and since Mr. Zimmerman wasn;t handing out photos of himself to the media or making himself press available they went with what was in the public record. Now if you want to compare that to what one finds by scouring the social media websites of the average teenager...

You are correct, the story is about the lack of arrest and the law that such inaction was based on. However, the political fallout of this is settling into a racial narrative. Some are even speaking of a "war on young black men". Of course if there is a war on young black men the warriors are overwhelmingly other young black men.
As I said his father was a Judge therefore chances he would know the law and the local cops are pretty good not only that but the son of Judge Zimmerman called the Sanford police dept 50 times last year.
Florida (small town is known for this ) I can list page after page about the KKK and its long standing popularity in Florida but all people see from other people is Miami , Grandma and Grandpa and Disney that's not real , its not true.
This is the second Chief there who has stepped down due to proven racist acts two in 4 years in Sanford ?
Being black and in a small town in Florida is trouble if they stand up for themselves 5 cops show as they have nothing else to do but help grandma into the club with her wheelchair, they invent crimes to fill the coffers of the local town its they way they work there.

According to a witness, the "victim" was seen on top of the "shooter" beating him when the gun was fired. Self defense.
Self-defense is generally not available to an initial aggressor.
