You're right. Not all Hispanics are short, dark, Indians. Going by the OP; Mitt Romney is a Hispanic, George Romney was born in Mexico to white people living there.

I was so shocked to discover this since I come from European blue blood. Went for a medical test and there it was right there in the tube; dark red?? LOL

Yes but hispanics can't have it both ways. They want their affirmative action, free college because of their race. The notion of a hispanic race only came after affirmative action so they could get in on quotas and lots of financial aid.

seems kind of racist to me sticking someone into a race that they might or might not identify with.

Bernie Goldberg was on Hannity last night and said it was the liberal media that was pushing that Zimmerman was a "white hispanic" just to inflame the blacks. He made a great point that the same media would not refer to him that way if he had won the Nobel Peace Prize. Then he would just be "hispanic".
Also Andrew Wilkow made a good point about the media saying he was not hispanic because his last name was "Zimmerman". That is the same as saying that Shaquille O'Neill must then be Irish.

Wow...before this case I always thought Hispanics could be White/Black/Asian.
Perhaps after this case, Latinos will become its own race.
Lots of Latinos getting a racial wake-up call!!!! And some white people are working themselves into a frenzy!!! Just focus on the case and stop agonizing.

No, she's not.
If a person is from Africa (born and raised), then immigrates to America, then they would be African-American.
The color of your skin has nothing to do with it.

The "one drop rule" has pretty much ceased being applicable among anyone under 40. What matters is how you identify internally and culturally.
George ZImmerman, phenotypically, displays heavy Indian (at least in the one pic) -- not "Hispanic" -- features, that suggest his mother is either heavily mestizo or Indian. I would probably consider him mixed race not knowing anything else, but if he identifies as white because he's half white, it is his life, and he can do so just as someone who is 1/4 black can identify with black if it floats their boat.
Guillermo del Toro, Fidel Castro, Penelope Cruz, Sophia Vergara, Ricky Martin, etc.... they are white Hispanics.
Zoe Saldana, black Hispanic.
Hispanics who give you a tour of Tulum in the Riviera Maya... mestizos or straight up Indian.

He's white to the media because he's the perpetrator of the crime. If he was a crime victim, then they'd call him hispanic.
And it is the same with Obama. His race matters because he's a Democrat. If he was the first Republican Black President then there would be no cries of racism for opposing him. Nobody was ever a racist for opposing Allen West or Hermain Cain or Condolezza Rice or Colin Powell or Tim Scott. It's only racist to oppose liberal blacks.

He's ONLY a white Hispanic because of what happened. If he did something noble, he would be just a Hispanic.
