I look Nordic (if we are referring to Nordic as meaning blonde, blue eyed, and burning under the sun), and I just find it humorous that Arabs from Oman or Native Americans and Mestizos from Mexico think they are the same race as me.
It was not really a serious question of mine Nordic people are just one of several types of white people, and strictly speaking not white anyway. The keys on my piano are white... The Japanese and Chinese are on average closer to white than "white" people are.
calling a person that is mixed hispanic half white and half latino/hispanic is better than calling someone half white and half tan.
Which doesn't make sense to me because Hispanics can be of any race. I used to know a girl whose mother had blonde hair and blue eyes and was Hispanic; her father was a light anglo. The daughter looked like someone from Sweden but she was "half" Hispanic and could NOT pass for Chicano at all.
I happen to live with a Chinese man who is just as pale as me, if not more so. But pale eastern Asians are not the confused ones marking White on census forms. Very dark skinned people from Latin America and the Middle East are.
Who says they're confused? Some white people DO have dark skin.

Unless you have blonde hair and blue eyes, you can't be from Latin America and be White. White strictly means to be of OBVIOUS EUROPEAN MAJORITY. English, Irish, and Scottish people are light skinned Whites. Italians, Greeks, and Romanians are dark skinned Whites.
You have to be less than 1 quarter mestizo to be considered White in the real world. They must be confused cause no one in the real world considers your average Mexican a white person. You can have Mestizo and even Black in you and be white, but it has to be at such a low level that it's hard for people to even spot that heritage in you at all.

Your first sentence is utterly wrong, not that the rest is much better... Most Spaniards, Portuguese, and Italians who have migrated to Latin America for centuries were neither blond, nor light-eyed. Still, they are a huge part of the Latin American gene pool.
Your view is like saying, if someone from Spain is dark, I am willing to accept that they are European, but with someone who looks similar, but is from Latin America, they have to be blond and light-eyed in order to prove they are white.
Like others have mentioned, Hispanic is not a race.
Much of the population of Argentina has white skin and could pass for white Europeans, but they would also be considered Hispanic.
.... which again means nothing.... An Argentinian born person whose parents immigrated from Italy is a "Hispanic"..... but his United States born cousin, whose parents immigrated to the USA from Italy at the same time.... would NOT be "Hispanic!"
you happen to be what? a white hispanic who is not spanish? because i am, which is the reason i am so peeved at your absurd statement. latin america is a diverse place that received immigrants from many european countries. the spanish did not follow the same immigration patterns as other european nationalities. they are much more intermixed. most of the ppl who are 100% european in latin america are not spaniard
I happen to be a Hispanic (ancestry from a Spanish-speaking country). I am not white. Nothing I am saying is absurd. You are from a very small population of descendants of white Europeans in Latin America. I do not know where you are from, but I know that most whites in Latin America do have Spanish ancestry.
If 50% white and 50% hispanic equals a white person, then why does obamas 50% white and 50% black does not equal being a white as well?
seems kind of racist to me sticking someone into a race that they might or might not identify with.
According to the 1 drop rule.
A 50% hispanic & 50% white would be considered hispanic
Considering many blacks are mixed with whites
