what a god damn joke. this morning Fareed Zakaria was talking about how the US incarcerates far more people than Europe. While I admit we have a jailing problem, I wouldn't be surprised if part of the reason we eclipse Europe's incarceration numbers is because we don't slap murderers on the wrist.

I think it has more to do with the fact that we tend to throw people in jail for smoking weed and they don't.
